Muscle Inflammations - Don\'t Let Them Stop You

If you intensively strain muscles over longer time period, there's a good chance of getting a muscle fatigue. That feeling of pain and heaviness of limbs is often felt by usually inactive persons who suddenly decide to get involved in physical activities.

The source of musce inflammations

The true reasons for muscle fatigue or inflammation come from the unreadiness of muscles for impetuous and intensive actions. Most of the time it's difficult to avoid that problem, but the only prevention steps you can take is to heat up properly and work out in moderate tempo, until your muscles get used to it. The most common inflammations are those on leg and arm muscles. So, the first thing you should do after you start to sweat is to work out the limbs.

Once muscles are being strained, especially those that usually aren't, they don't get enough oxygen enough fast. Then the lactic acid, known as the 'milk acid', comes in the muscle and starts to accumulate. Level of tolerance for larger amount of lactic acid in muscles depends from person to person, but it gets higher with more training and exercises.

Levels of muscle inflammations

There are three levels of muscle inflammations;

1) Mild, so called, pleasant pain which lets you know your muscle exists, and often prevents some movements of limbs, depending on which muscle got fatigued.

2) Intensive pain, appearing from 24 to 48 hours after workouts, and can last from 3 - 5 days. The whole organism starts to contain the lactic acid, which can result with infections or illnesses.

3) The heavy muscle fatigue in which a muscle stops to function entirely. Rare athletes get this, since enormous amount of workout is needed to strain a muscle so hard. Symptoms for this sort of inflammation are strong pain in the body, dizziness, nausea, weakness and even vomitting.

Don't let it stop you!

The muscle inflammation, unfortunately, discourages many of newby recreatives and makes them give up from regular body workouts. That's why it's important to point out that this sort of pain is a sign that the body wakes up, so, inflammations doesn't have to be necessarily a bad thing. It's just a sign you're moving your body limits. It's also important to listen to your body and push the limits a bit, without being in danger of serious injuries. So, trust your body, consult with a personal trainer if you have one, or perhaps a doctor, but don't let the fear of it prevent you from working on your body.
