Look and Feel Good

Different body physiques make individualized functional strength training routines imperative. Your physique is based on many things; including heredity, workout routine, as well as other factors.

Just because a person inherits a skinny or large physique should not make you assume that the skinny person should be a distance runner and the larger person should be a weight lifter. Assumptions can be wrong!

A person’s outward physique is not always a true indicator of their inward mental or physical capability. There are some very slim people who but can bench press or pick up heavy items which are well above their body weight. You may be that person!

In contrast, some people with large framed physiques can run just as long and fast as their slimmer counterpart. The outward physique does not always dictate individual capabilities. “Don’t judge a book by its cover” may apply at this time.

Do not let your present physique deter you either. It is presumptuous to assume that one person has more inherent abilities over another person just because of their outward appearance.

Look Good

It is great to look good and know that your physique is exactly the way you want it. It is still imperative that you maintain your good looks and keep it going. Looking good does not mean you don’t want to improve your resistance training routines, nor does it mean that you cannot maintain or improve your current level of physicality.

Body mass indexers (BMI), or body fat indicators, are tools used to gauge physique. Your personal fitness program may use the system of comparing your neck size with your waist and using a mathematical computation; or a system of water displacement to assess muscle/fat content. Either way, do not let your present physique stop you from raising the bar.

Feel Good

It is also great to feel good about yourself and know that your physique is exactly what you want. Feeling good is the ultimate goal and purposeful variety within your training program will keep you from becoming stagnant and bored.

When you transcend from the beginner level to the advanced level, there are several stages to progress so your body can adapt to the new rigors which come with upper level training. The stages depend on how much time and energy you have to devote to your program. You may work eight hour a day and your brother may work fourteen hours a day, so an individualized program would have to be tailored to maximize your progress without killing yourself.

A tailored program can be used to improve your resistance training routines, or it can be used to maintain your current level of fitness. Individualized functional strength training routines are imperative if you want to look good and feel good. Ready, Set, Go!
