Why is being fit such a big deal to almost everyone especially to children and teenagers? The way I see it, people nowadays are very unhealthy. We tend to eat almost anything when we are starving. Whether junk food with sodas, street food or fast food sold outside of malls, and at the beach, all of these could get you out of shape. So why is fitness a great deal to us? First, let’s face it people judge us by our physical appearance. Second, we have tendency to show comparison between people. And last, at school or at the office people are often teasing one another and sometimes create a bad working relationship.

Many things can help you on your way to be fit. Some of this includes proper intake of nutritional foods and regular physical exercise, but these are only the basics. What I can suggest is workout at home, if you are too tired to go to the gym, do simple things such as clean the house, dust the cabinet, move the furniture, but make sure you keep yourself in good hands. Accomplish what you can, don’t over work. If you are in the gym go for the light machines like the elliptical, treadmill or the bike, being fit does not always mean getting buff.

Some of my ideas and techniques may not apply to you. But there are always alternatives. One of this involves taking in a lot of protein. The significance of protein is that our bones, organs, muscles, even skin and hair have some protein. This means without the right amount of protein intake our body may not function well.

Another thing I might suggest is to get the right amount of sleep. You may think why sleeping involves being fit? In my opinion, sleeping with the right amount of time will further relax our body and increase our energy for the day. I also read an article about “Memory Consolidation” that sleeping can actually help the brain commit new information to memory, and that students who'd slept after learning a task did better on their exams.

The beauty of being fit lies within you, as you pursue your regular routine working out. You can only see it when you believe and start doing something about it. Take action now! Start wtih a routine physical exercise or a home workout. Then follow it with adequate protein intake (also include vitamin rich foods in your diet). And lastly, try to sleep at least 8 hours a day (possibly more).

Your journey awaits you. I hope some of my suggestions may help you in achieving fitness whe at a hundred percent.
