I'm often asked about home fitness programs and their effectiveness. Can a home workout program really replace going to the gym? Can you get the same kind of results? The short answer is yes. Yet, much of that depends on what type of results you were wanting to achieve. Most home workouts are great for shedding pounds and getting lean. However, a 20 -year-old male who wants to put on big muscles and look like a bodybuilder is not going to see the kind of results he wants from one of these home workout programs.
Many of the newer at-home workout programs are perfect for busy people because they enable individuals to workout at their own leisure. Also, thanks to a little science and a better understanding of how the body burns fat, some home workout programs are perfect because they incorporate a mixture of cardiovascular exercise and resistance exercise. It is well-known and scientifically proven that a person will burn more calories if he or she is building muscle at the same time as getting a heart-pumping cardio exercise. Why? Well, it has to do with lean muscle. The more lean muscle the individual has, the faster the weight will come off.
Take two people and have them both exercise at the same pace and for the same amount of time. The person that has a higher percentage of lean muscle will burn more calories than the individual who has a smaller percentage of lean muscle. Therefore, it is important to find a system with both types of exercise, strength training and cardiovascular. These programs will always be more effective than running on a treadmill or using an elliptical machine.
Many of the newer programs on the market today are created with the high intensity training idea in mind. You may know it by the acronym H.I.T. H.I.T. is one of the more popular methods that personal trainers use to get results. It's much like circuit training but at a lightning fast speed.
There are many reviews out there, and you can see that it is another program where you will find this H.I.T. style routine. It combines heart pumping action with strength training by way of resistance bands. These unique resistance bands are unlike many that you have seen before, they are attached to your body and allow you to move freely through the whole course of the workout.
Another component attached to some great at-home training programs is the diet plan. The diet will be important not only in terms of removing certain things from your regimen, but also because of the impact certain foods have on the ability to create lean muscle.
If a person is faced with buying a gym membership or buying a home workout program, then you might consider this. If you will be going to the gym alone or without the help of a trainer, you might want to consider getting trained by an instructed video. You won't have to worry about doing things the wrong way and you will take full advantage of the time you spend working out. In today's busy world, the last thing we have time for, is time wasted.
