In today's world, a lot of guys are wanting to go to the gym to workout, gain muscle, and look ripped. Where do they get the inspiration to get going. Most of the motivation comes the big action or chick flick movies. Some guys would want a muscular Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans ( in The Avengers), Ryan Rynolds ( Blade Trinity, Green Lantern) or Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson ( in the Fast Five) type of look, while others would want a ripped and lean Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer, and Channing Tatum ( in Magic Mike) type of look. Besides seeing girls going crazy about these actors, these kind of actors are the main reason for giving guys the push to get up every day and work their butt off.
Noticing the increase of men going to the gym, many people have been launched websites of how to that certain actors look. If you look carefully, they all say the same thing; "Do that workout with that much reps, take that type of supplements, eating that kind of food that much per day, and in that much weeks, you will get that actors body". Now while this might seem like it's a good thing, it is not the ideal workout that guys should be following. You must realize one thing; everybody has different body types. Someone who is big can't do a muscle gaining workout; he will look like an aweful bodybuilder. And someone who is skinny can do a "get ripped", he will look terrible.
The ideal workout program should be so that anybody with body type could benifit from it. It should be made easy to understand and adjustable. You must not be be compelled to do every single thing word for word. Let's look at three actors for example. Christian Bale, who looked deathly sick in The Machinst. He then had to bulk up to a healthy wieght for Batman Begins. Taylor Lautner, who rose to stardom in the Twilight movies, was already ripped as a young kid. But he had to bulk up a lot for his role as Jacob Black, which is why he looks ripped and muscular at the same time. The same goes for Chris Hemsworth, who was lean and fit before playing Thor. Chris then went on a bulking program, but at the end he was so big that he couldn't fit into his Thor suit. So he had to cut some fat just to fit in his suit.
These are the things you need to know when building muscle and gettin the Hollywood physique.
Travis, I would have thought that the gym owners would be the best people to judge your present shape and size, then recommend what you must do, to get what you want?
I understand what you mean, but nobody knows how to judge your body better than yourself. You know how you want your body to look like. Gym owners advice may be helpful for some, in the end it's about what do you want to acheive, what you want to accomplish, how you vision yourself in the next six months or so.
Ok with you on that .. too late for me to develope any six packs so its a case of "I'm happy"...
