There are many Kettlebell workout routines women can perform today, but to keep things simple, I am going to discuss three of the best.
Choosing a complete routine over just performing individual exercises gives a few distinct advantages:
- Somebody else has done the hard work of choosing the exercises for you
- You benefit from tried and tested results
- You get expert advice and experience
Personally, I prefer working out by myself or using a DVD than going to the gym, so that is why I have done this research. I always get a bit self-conscious and/or impatient going to a gym, not to mention the whole act of motivating oneself to go in the first place, so I found that by getting into DVDs and exercising at home, I was a lot more comfortable and the whole thing just went a lot more swimmingly. Stick in the DVD, stick on the short shorts, and off I go.
So, without much further ado, it's time to talk about some of the more popular Kettlebell workout routines available right now.
1. Kettleworx.
You may have heard of Kettleworx and if not that is fine. In a nutshell, Kettleworx is a DVD course that promises "Total Body Fitness in just 20 minutes, 3 times a week". It takes roughly 6 weeks to see the results.
I found that the popularity of the program was largely down to those factors. It only requires 20 minutes per day, it only requires 3 times per week of exercising, and it only takes 6 weeks or so to see noticeable results.
That is quite the attraction to many, and certainly fits the criteria of programs that I am looking for.
One negative thing I have heard however, is that it can be quite intense and can be hard on the back if you do not have excellent form or a lot of experience.
Either way, it gets results. So how about number 2?
2. Daily Burn
Daily burn is growing in popularity too and offers a 30-day free trial, followed by a $10 per month subscription. While it is great that you can try it for free for 30 days, that sounds to me like it is going to be quite a long process and I wonder exactly how their slogan "Better results, Less Time" holds up to the less time part.
However, it is certainly a program that can offer a lot of support and variety. Subscribers can enjoy customized fitness, eating and nutrition plans, as well as access to a community of other subscribers and lots of support.
If you are looking for a more long-term solution to your needs, this could be the one for you. I imagine that Daily Burn is essentially a daily support website that will help you with your day to day exercising needs and habits, this would be great for somebody who wants to exercise all the time but has nobody to do it with or needs guidance.
For somebody who wants more immediate results, see below.
3. Kettlebell Kickboxing.
I have saved the best for last here with Kettlebell kickboxing, and I say it is the best for several reasons. Firstly, it is not exclusively a Kettlebell workout, for it combines martial arts (kickboxing) with regular Kettlebells It makes for an incredibly unique routine and according to reviews, about 90% of the exercises performed in KBKB are unique, patented moves.
- Next on the list is the fact that it achieves results even faster than Kettleworx does, yet only requires the same level of time. 3 times a week for 25 minutes (or 60 if you prefer the longer routine). However, this only takes 3 weeks to see results.
Three weeks! That is certainly something that impatient people like me can achieve.
- Finally, Kettlebell kickboxing is tailored purely to women. Yes, men can still perform it (I do) but it was designed specifically with women in mind, and that is why it tops this list for me.
This wasn't taken in as a factor when choosing, but it is also $20 cheaper than Kettleworx which might be the icing on the cake for some of you. Like Daily Burn, Kettlebell Kickboxing also comes with a free eating and nutrition guide.
Whether it is because you are trying to lose weight, or because you want to tone up, Kettlebells are definitely a great and fun form of exercising, so much so that you might not even realize you are performing a workout.
After I wrote a similar article over at Squidoo, one of my regular readers commented that she decided to give the exercises I had recommend I go, she said at first it felt like they weren't doing anything at all and that she was wasting her time, but the next day she ached in places that she didn't know existed.
My point here is: Kettlebell exercises are so "strain free" that you might not even realize you are performing the exercises, but the results will come quickly all the same.
I love the turn around time on this system, it gets you feeling good fast and that is a good thing....here comes summer...:)
Kettlebell kickboxing sounds like a good system. I have always loved martial arts in that they provide power as well as flexibility and combining that with kettlebells sounds fun. Is it only for women?
Three weeks seems really fast. More people will stick with it if they see results quickly. no wonder it's gaining popularity.
All three sound like great routines. I'm seeing more Kettle bell use at the gym
