Starting an exercise program can be a scary thought. This is true especially for people who might be a lot over weight.
Lets get started on the right foot, so to speak. When starting an exercise program you need to start slow with the basics. Your not going to start with the same program as a person who has been training for five years. This would be unhealthy and just plain cruel.
Start off by going for a short walk. Your body needs to get used to the fact you are changing your routine. Actually starting one. Go slow and make them short to start.
You know the old saying "You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink." Same for you. Don't run before you are able to walk. Just remember that as time goes by everything will be a piece of cake.
If exercise is something you would really not do than think about this. Exercise along with proper eating habits will help you lose weight the fastest. Other benefits are a faster metabolism which again helps with weight loss and just being and feeling healthier.
If you feel sluggish with your daily routine and activities exercise is the answer. Believe it or not you will feel a lot more energetic after a period of exercising and your daily "to do" list will be easy to do.
Because of a faster metabolism you will have a better more efficient digestive system. You will have a faster flow of blood moving through your body removing all kinds of toxins that shouldn't be there. Any exercise is good. Start now.
If you add weight training to your exercise routine your weigh scale will thank you. Working to gain muscle mass will help to burn fat. This will decrease your weight make you look trim and toned and you will feel a lot better about yourself.
As we age we all experience the weakening of the bones in our bodies. Osteoporosis is very common with seniors. Weight training will help strengthen the bones. The weight training is done with light weights at the beginning of starting a fitness routine. You should consult your doctor before starting any kind of weight training or exercise routine for that matter.
To gain the best results and reach your goals you need to exercise regularily. Do some kind of activity every day that will increase the heart rate. Try and schedule at least three workouts every week. Again remember to start slow with short 30 minute and work up to longer workouts.
The point here is that you need to get started. Do something. Start an activity and do it consistantly. Do it regularily and soon you will have a new lifestyle which will become something you do automatically.
