I've read a lot of reviews for Kettlebell DVDs recently and I decided that a lot of them were useful but all of them were lacking something. Therefore, it made sense to me to have a go at giving my own reviews.
What are the other reviews lacking?I think a lot of people within the fitness world are starting to realize the potential of Kettlebells these days, but they are failing to really treat them as separate from dumbbells and accept them as being as unique as they really are.
What makes Kettlebells so amazing is their holistic nature. By this I mean, due to the swinging motions that are used in most of their exercises, Kettlebells always work out more than one muscle at the same time. This is truly quite powerful.
The swinging nature also means that the exercises build "real" muscles rather than just "weight-lifting" muscles.
What all this means is that a great Kettlebell DVD will be designed to really utilize the powers of the Kettlebell, and not just be an adaptation of a dumbbell routine with a few Kettlebell swings thrown in for good measure. I've seen a few that are like this.
I'm sure if you are looking for a DVD, it is because you want to enjoy exercising at home, without time constraints, and with the other freedoms that home exercises gives you.
Maybe this is because you want to lose weight, get in shape, or maybe it's because you want to stay fit. Whatever the reason, if you are using Kettlebells, you might as well be using them correctly.
So what DVD would I review?Obviously I sound quite opinionated and I guess I can afford to be. Really though, I just want to make sure you find a suitable fit for your Kettlebells.
With that in mind, I would definitely recommend you check out Kettlebell Kickboxing. I'll give you a brief summary below, so you can decide for yourself if it is more to your taste.
Here are some of the perks of this DVD:
-A mixture of Kettlebells and martial arts, giving the best "full-body" workout possible.
-Designed purely for women
-Either workout for 25 minutes of 60 minutes, whichever you prefer
-Burn 500 or 1,000 calories (depending which workout you do)
There are a lot more benefits to this DVD, but what I would really like to talk about is the fact that it is designed by somebody (Dasha Libin) who grew up around Kettlebells, has a lot of knowledge in her field, and has a history of success in her NYC classes.
Most importantly, the DVD gets results. If you view some of the testimonials from other users, you will know what I am talking about in more detail.
