Zumba was invented quite by accident by Columbian Beto Perez. The story goes that he was teaching an aerobics class and forgot his music one day. So he went to his car and took out a selection of CD's. The class loved it. It turned out that many people are just not keen on traditional fitness class teachings. It can be too regimented and disciplined for some. When you go along to Zumba Glasgow there will be no pressure on you to get the steps right, or to do more than you feel you want to.
So once you start Zumba Glasgow, or in fact anywhere else, you just follow the instructors moves but if you don't manage to follow along, just keep moving because the main thing is to have fun and enjoy yourself. You will get better the more you practice and you can always practice at home with one of the Zumba games for games consoles
Zumba Glasgow is for anyone age 16 or over, whatever the level of fitness. You certainly don't need experience, you simply learn as you go along. Each week you will perfect your moves a bit more and improve. You set your own pace though, no pressure at all. There is no set dress code at Zumba Glasgow so just wear what you like to wear. However, it's wise to choose clothes that you can move around easily in. So jeans are not really a good idea. A lot of people wear cargo pants and t-shirts, or hoodies. You will likely get quite hot as well, so bear that in mind. The one really important part of your dress is your shoes. You must have enough support for your foot but also minimal grip on the ball of your foot. There are shoes on the market made specifically for Zumba
When you start your Zumba Glasgow classes, don't forget to bring along a bottle of water and a towel as you will probably sweat quite a lot. Zumba has taken Glasgow and in fact the whole of Scotland by storm as people of all ages and races, flock to classes in order to join the party. And let's not forget the fact that it's a perfect program for weight loss as well as overall body toning and shaping. So get along to a Zumba Glasgow class and join in the fun
