Sugar Gliders are extremely popular as pets worldwide these days and the search to buy these gorgeous little creatures is phenomenal. But before you buy a Sugar Glider or as they are also known “Sugar Bears and Honey Gliders” there are a few very important facts to know before you spend up to $ 200 on one and end up wasting your money due to a quick death of a Glider.

- There are tons of dodgy Sugar Glider breeders on the Internet who do not have licenses and sell mistreated creatures. Avoid buying the creature on the Internet.

- Try find a local breeder who has a valid USDA license or the European equivalent as the breeding of these creatures is strictly regulated on a federal level and in some states proof of a license is required.

- A lot of Illegal breeders on the Internet have set up some excellent enticing sites and claim to be pet owners or Glider shelters. Beware of these sites, it is better to buy one by meeting your seller face to face.

- Meeting your seller gives you the chance to ask some questions because with a Sugar Glider you need as much advice as possible. Make sure they have a current valid USDA license.

- By holding their own mature gliders you will be able to tell straight away if they are a reputable breeder due to the behavior of their own creatures. If it is well behaved, does not need to be restrained then the breeder as you could tell should be a reliable seller.

- If the breeder is a reputable one they should be enthusiastically eager to go out of their way to make sure and give you some written instructions or videos on how to care for Gliders. They will want to stay in-touch and make sure all is ok as most reputable breeders really do love their Gliders.

- Your Glider should come with a full detailed written health guarantee and if it dies with in a 10 day period a reputable breeder will replace your glider for a discount price.

- When buying a Sugar Glider make sure they are between 8-10 weeks old which is the perfect time to start bonding with it.

- Ask is the creature neutered or is it an extra charge.

These are just some of the facts to consider before buying a Glider. Remember, they can live up to 15 years so need a lot of attention and love right from the day you bring it home.
