Beginner Parkour Movers - Your Guide to Getting Better at Parkour

Parkour For Beginners

So you want to learn beginner parkour moves. Before you start you need to realize that parkour can be dangerous if not done properly. Even if done properly, things can still go wrong. You can never know what happens.

One of the biggest causes of injury in parkour is going through with something that you are scared of doing, and not fully committing to it. So when you are out practicing parkour and you go to do a trick, make sure you completely commit to it. Or else you might be seriously injured.

If you are scared of doing parkour because you might be injured, then it might not be for you. But you should also realize that you can be injured anywhere at anytime. So you might want to think about stop riding or driving a car.

There are over 5 million car crashes a year and the average cost of injury is $61,000. And according to the National Highway Traffic Administration says you have a 30% chance of being in a serious car accident. You are now just as likely to be a victim of a violent crime as in a car accident too. So you might want to start thinking about not leaving your house.

What I'm getting at, is that life is dangerous, and you cannot escape the possibility of injury. So if you think you might want to try parkour, but are scared of it. Just give it a try, because it can be one of the most rewarding experiences. If you do decide to try it, then here is a list of beginner parkour moves.

Beginner Parkour Moves

For every sport you need some sort of foundation. Movements or parts that make up the essentials, that allows you to expand your skills and create your own individual style. Parkour is no different.

There are several basic moves you need to learn. Those are as follows:

  1. Parkour Landing
  2. Parkour Rolling
  3. Kong Vault
  4. Wall Climb
  5. Precision Jumps

Every one of these moves are important for you to learn and master before you can go on to more complicated moves.

Especially the landing and rolling. These are the most important as doing these correctly will greatly reduce your chances of injury. They are not that complicated to learn.

However, learning through reading, especially for something like parkour, is extremely difficult. So the best thing you can do is find youtube videos of people demonstrating them. But make sure they are not some kid jumping off a park bench. Make sure that is a professional parkour instructional video.
