Nitro Remote Control Cars – What’s The Big Deal?

The past time of buying, assembling or building and running nitro remote control cars has become a favorite past time of many. Whether you are an avid enthusiast of nitro remote control cars or you are just venturing into this hobby, it is a very addictive undertaking.

Everyone has, at one time or another, played with some type of a remote control or RC car. These types of toys run on batteries, and do not move very quickly. Additionally, they are mostly for indoor use, because they are manufactured from very low cost materials, therefore they are not that durable, and can break very easily.

On the other hand, RC cars that run on actual fuels, such as nitro remote control cars, are built with a solid foundation. These cars have a structure that is both durable and will withstand top speeds outside. The frame of the car and the motor are on an actual suspension that is meant to absorb the shock of bumps and wipe outs. These cars can reach top speeds upwards of 80 km/h.

Due to the fact that nitro remote control cars run on a fuel called nitromethane, the by product or exhaust leaves an unburned oil residue on the chassis which must be cleaned on a regular basis. Also, because these cars travel at such high rates of speed, the risk of damage is increased if a car hits an obstacle or is involved in a collision.

If you have ever played with an RC car before, you may wonder “whats the big deal” when it comes to nitro remote control cars. There is simply no comparison between the two. A basic RC car is a lump of plastic containing some batteries, which by the way, do not last for very long. A nitro RC car is loaded with real fuel and moves incredibly fast. This is where people start to become hooked, because operating an RC car at such top speeds actually requires a great deal of skill.

If you decide that you would like to purchase a Nitro RC car, you should ensure that you educate yourself on several aspects of owning an RC car, including:

1. Where to find a quality RC Car;

2. How to get the best deal on that car;

3. How to clean and care for your car, so as to get the most enjoyment out of it;

4. Where you can race your car – local clubs and associations;

5. Where to find a good source of replacement parts.

It may not seem like that big of a deal at first, but eventually, once you get better at driving your nitro remote control cars, you are going to want to compete against other RC car owners. In addition to that, your neighbors are not going to appreciate you running these noisy cars up and down the block. Finding a good club or association will provide you with the perfect venue where you can drive your car and enjoy driving it for hours on end.
