Remote Control Cars For Adults – Getting Started With Your First Car

Let’s just say that remote control cars for adults have come a very long way, and if you have an image in your head of a cheapo plastic car that takes batteries, then you really need to read this.

Remote control cars for adults are a force to be reckoned with. First of all, these are not battery operated vehicles that run out of juice in an hour and have very little power. Quite the opposite, remote control cars for adults are gas powered or nitro powered vehicles that can travel as fast as a full sized automobile – some reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.

This is not the kind of hobby you do indoors. First of all, there are plenty of exhaust fumes and the vehicles move so quickly, you would never be able to run them inside your house. This is strictly an outdoor sport, best enjoyed in a wide open space such as your local park, quiet street or parking lot.

One of the first decisions you will need to make when you purchase your first of many remote control cars for adults is whether you want a kit (you must assemble the vehicle yourself) or one that is “RTR” which means “ready to race” right out of the box. The hobby grade RC car is one that has been designed to be easily customized if that tickles your fancy. Most RC car enthusiasts appreciate this fact; however, a novice would probably be more inclined to search for an RC car that does not require much assembly and/or maintenance.

Gasoline RC cars have much less maintenance required than their nitro counterparts. If you are really not interested in the cleaning and maintenance that is required to maintain a nitro powered RC car, you may want to explore the gasoline option. The main issue with a gasoline RC car is that it is much more expensive than a nitro RC car. Also, there are brushless or brushed motor options, with the latter being the more commonly found and cheaper motor.

Once you starting running your own remote control cars for adults, you will find that you are becoming addicted. These little machines are fully customizable, with many outlets offering after market options for parts and accessories. As you gain the experience, you can explore the many options with each level and type of RC car.

The experience and the knowledge together will probably have you considering RC cars that are fully customizable and have the capabilities of high performance vehicles. The more money you invest, the higher the performance, when it comes to after market parts. Additionally, it is a good option to be able to replace certain parts when you want to, and when you can afford to.

Forget thinking that RC cars are just for kids. Remote control cars for adults are a rapidly growing craze with more and more people getting involved in this intense hobby. Check your local paper for the club near you, and practice your driving skills, you may find yourself racing for trophies in the future!
