Article Marketing Strategy  -  2 Secrets To Filling Your Sales Funnel

Your article marketing strategy should move an ocean of traffic into the mouth of your sales funnel. There are all kinds of reasons for running an online business. These might range from getting people to join your membership site to buying a product you manufacture yourself.

The bottom line is that you want the engines to send you hordes of organic (free) traffic that is laser focused on your site and the products you are selling. Not only do you want people to visit, you want to stay in front of them all through the buying cycle. The average buyer on the internet has to visit a site an average of 7 times before he or she pulls out his or her credit card. How in the heck can you get them to come back? You don't.

You get their permission to visit them!

This is where an article marketing strategy can work its magic. The most important thing you can do while writing your article is being very specific about whatever subject you are writing about. It is critically important that:

Don't waste the reader's time. They found your article looking for something. Give it to them! Whatever they are looking for, it is information on that subject. show them you are expert or at least well versed in the subject.

Don't try to sell them anything in your article. Answer whatever question they are asking in their search and hint at the fact that you have the solution they are looking for.

Make it abundantly clear that what they are looking for will require more information than you can give in one article. In this case, there are two magic strategies that you can use.

The first is getting them to agree to let you visit them again and again.

  • Assume that they are in the category of visiting 7 times before buying. Offer them a free ecourse on the subject they are exploring. The beauty of this is that they are giving you permission to reach their inbox as many times as there are sections to the course.
  • As they absorb more and more information from you, their trust grows by leaps and bounds. After a few visits from you, they are much more likely to follow your suggestion to buy whatever you think is best for them.
  • Depending on the subject matter, it is a simple thing to get them to signing up to a second course if that is of your choosing by the time you have completed your first series of lessons.

The second highly effective article marketing strategy of getting them into your sales funnel is to simply convince them in your article that you have the exact solution they are looking for and you get them to click a link directly to a sales page on your site. This can be very effective when they are in a hurry for a solution and it is obvious you know what you are talking about.

Can you see where these approaches can send a flood of visitors into the open mouth of your sales funnel? They will get there after having read some of your material which means they are interested in you and the solution you have talked about in your article.

In conclusion, wouldn't you agree that either article marketing strategy will firmly, yet gently, move your cautious visitors into faithful repeat customers?
