First page of Google can be achieved in a matter of days. People may not go directly to your site, but they will go to an article which you wrote, from which they can access your website. If you have good enough content, other sources will take your article, and post it on their website, along with links back to your website, thus adding to the pool of people who will read your work and potentially visit your website. Pretty cool, huh?

Here, you can talk a little about yourself, your website you want to promote, and give a couple of backlinks to your website. Backlinks are all important because the more backlinks to your website, the more "important" it looks to search engines and the more they think people will want to read it. Do not overdo backlinks, because search engines do not like people to "game" the rankings. But by adding backlinks to your website, you will seem more important to search engines.

The second reason for adding links comes by way of having a conduit for people to reach your website. Do not make it sound like a blatant self-promotion, but let them know they can find more important information by clicking on the link and perusing your website.

By utilizing article directories, you will gain an advantage by being seen as an expert in your field. The more legitimate you seem, the more traffic that will be drawn to your website, and the more successful your internet marketing business will be.
