How To Build A Chicken Coop - 3 Simple Starter Tips

So the time has come and you finally want to learn how to build a chicken coop. I know if may seem like a near impossible task but it can be done. First just say to yourself "I can do this, I can build a chicken coop". Okay now that you done that and prepared yourself mentally. I want to teach you he 4 basic things you'll need when building you coop.

So what comes firsts when building a chicken coop?

1.) So I'm guessing you probably have no clue where to start. This is okay, at one point I had no ideal what the heck I was getting into either. I was just a newbie chicken owner, searching all over the net how to build a chicken coop. So what is the first thing anyone should do when starting something new? Yes correct make a plan. So the first thing you are going to want to do is get a blueprint or a chicken coop plan to get you started. This will save the hassle of being outside nailing random 4X4 together. So first step "Get a Chicken Coop Plan'. You can find these for cheap online.

2.) Next you are going to want to make sure that your chickens are safe from wolves, coyotes, dogs, hawks, and other predators that see your flock as a tasty treats. So you are going to want to find a chicken coop plan that has maximum protection for your flock. Things like using the right type of wiring and making sure there is top to your coop will help improve the security of the chickens. Also making sure you dig far enough into the ground when building your coop will prevent animals from digging up the ground and crawling under you coop to get a hold of you flock. So make sure your coop is as safe as possible.

3.) Make sure you can clean the coop. Being able to clean the coop regularly is a huge must if you don't want all your chicken to die from a disease. With all the poop and urine building up, a disease is rushing to spread if you don't clean the coop probably. So when building your coop, you can put it on a slope so it is easier to sweep out all the poop.

4.) Keep those chicken warm with a well insulated coop. Chickens have to stay warm during the winter months so be sure to set up you coop so the sunlight is easily let through or you can set up heat lamps within you coop to keep them warm that way.

So I hope you got the just of how to build a chicken coop and learned something new today. These are just my views on how to build a chicken coop and what I believe help me the most starting off. So to cap it off make sure you get a chicken coop plan, make sure its secure,easy to, and insulate it well. These are the basic step on how to build a chicken coop successfully.
