Some of the top rated audio books are written by Brandon Sanderson. The author Brandon Sanderson has recently come to fame for finishing The Wheel of Time series after Robert Jordan's death. Sanderson is a new author with some incredible talent. He has written many fantasy / fiction novels and each one gets excellent reviews.

The first book you will enjoy is called Warbreaker. This is a stand-alone novel is about two kingdoms who are on the brink of war with each other. Sanderson usually uses a unique type of magic in his novels and Warbreaker is no exception. The type of magic in Warbreaker is based off of people's life forces or breath as it is called. The story of Warbreaker involves a kingdom called Hallandren that has "Gods" who take this breath from their faithful followers in order to survive. The other kingdom of Idris sees this as evilness since these Gods seem to be stealing the souls from their own people. The two kingdoms have a peace treaty but everything is not as it seems in the kingdom of Hallandren. Sanderson takes you on an incredible journey of love and war with a shocking ending and with Warbreaker being narrated by James Yaegashi, you will come to agree that Warbreaker is one of the top rated audio books.

Elantris is the next novel you should read. Elantris is another stand-alone novel about a world in which once powerful and revered Gods are now cursed and are withering away. The people who once worshiped and loved these Gods now find themselves without spiritual guidance. The story of Elantris takes you on the journey of what happens when people are left to make new decisions about their spirituality.

Sanderson is making a rumored ten-part series called The Stormlight Archives. The first of these novels is called The Way of Kings. In this novel, Sanderson tells a story about a world of war and where monarchy dominates. One king in world is murdered and the princes of the king start a war with the other nations for vengeance. As you read on you will soon discover that vengeance is not the way of the kings. You will be left wanting more and will not be disappointed since Sanderson plans on releasing a new book every year.

After reading these novels you will agree that Brandon Sanderson is a great author and has some of the top rated audio books on the market today.
