The top ten in books might not be what you think. First of all, a lot of people would probably consider the following books the ten top best books:
1. To Kill a Mockingbird
2. 1984
3. Pride and Prejudice
4. The Lord of the Rings
5. The Catcher in the Rye
6. The Great Gatsby
7. Crime and Punishment
8. Catch-22
9. Animal Farm
10. Lolita
Now these books are all top best books for sure, but this is purely subjective. Plus most of these books are on high-school and university reading lists. Are they really the top best books?
Perhaps? But lets be honest, you could put any books on that list. The list might be created with your favorite fantasy series, or genre of your liking.
You might put the Harry Potter series there to fill the top best books list.
Now all the books above are great works of literature, not just a story about a young wizard and his friends. But still, a lot of people consider books like Harry Potter to be some of the best ever written. So the first thing you must do is define for yourself what you consider to be the top best books.
For me the criteria include: originality, level of literacy, deeper symbolism, rich use of language, story's ability to inspire and enlighten, to bring about a change in consciousness, and a great entertainment value!
I know that is a lot to ask for, but believe it or not there are books that meet most of these requirements. There is only one book that has all of these things for me, and its is called: Creator, by M A Hills, and is on the top of my ten top best books list.
here is the story in a nutshell, and although it is a good description it does not even scratch the surface of the awesome depth, and possible epiphany, held with in its fun and enlightening pages:
The story takes place in ancient Rome. The hero of the story, Daedalus Rufus, is sent to earth by the Olympian gods in the time Jesus is sent to save humanity. This Olympian hero, however, is not like Jesus. It seems he is the exact opposite. He is not raised by a simple carpenter to learn humility and love, but by the worlds worst terrorist of the day. He is taught to be dishonest, taught to fight war, and does not ignore temptations. At the same time he is lead by a strange curse to create heaven on earth, and to become a living god! He posses the greatest imagination the world has ever known, and, wow, does he ever prove it in the end. But, at the same time, he seems to be doomed.
Creator is very well written. Creator combines the ancient with the ultra modern. It describes ancient traditions, and archaic ways of thinking, and at the same time illustrates, in the most entertaining way, modern quantum concepts and philosophies. This is a very original novel, which becomes a modern myth, yet set in our primitive, bloody, and blind history.
This would be my ten top best books based on the things that I like, Creator has it all:
1. Creator by M A Hills
2. Perfume by Patrick Suskind
3. On the Road by Jack Kerouac
4. Naked Lunch by William S Burroughs
5. The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski
6. Lucid Living by Timothy Freke
7. Lord Of The Rings by J R R Tolkein
8. Post Office by Charles Bukowski
9. The Unbearable Lightness Of Being by Milan Kundera
10. The Tropic Of Cancer by Henry Miller
