HOW TO MAKE MONEY WORKING WHILE RETIRED
Most retirees today need to find extra income in order to live comfortably. After the market crashes of the recent past, many retirees find that the savings they counted on have been greatly reduced. Many people struggle just to meet living expenses. Travel plans, home repair and major purchases are now out of reach due to lack of funds
All hope should not be lost. There are many ways to make extra money working while retired. Think creatively and think about the skills you have developed over your lifetime. Life experience is a valuable asset, put it to use. You can learn how to make money in retirement and still enjoy life.
Tips on How to Make Money When Retired:
Consultant: Use your experience: You have a lifetime of experience. Put that experience to use generating extra income. You may be surprised at how many people or even companies are willing to pay for that experience. Maybe your interest would be as a consultant in your former field of employment.
Handyman: Are you good at home repair projects or woodworking. How about starting a home repair or home handyman business. Get the word out to friends and neighbors or place an ad in your local newspaper.
Hobbies: Do you have a hobby or craft? You can use your hobbies to make money. Many retirees find that a hobby they have enjoyed is very marketable. Are you good at woodworking? How about building book cases, tables, birdhouses or other items you enjoy building. If you are good at sewing why not put your skills to use making money. Put flyers on bulletin boards, hand out business cards or place an ad in your local newspaper.
Temp Worker: Temporary employment can be a great option for seniors. You will be able to bring in extra income and still enjoy plenty of free time. Temp agencies are always in need of workers for short term assignments.
Sell unwanted items: Look around your house, garage and workshop and you are likely to find many items you no longer use. Advertise these items and make money on eBay or with Craigslist. Having a yard sale is another way to clean out unwanted items as well as bring in extra money.
Rent out extra room: That extra room in your home can provide you with extra income. Be sure to carefully screen your renters. If you travel for extended periods, rent out your whole house. You could also rent out your storage building or garage as storage space.
Tutor: If you have a background in education you should have no problem finding work as a tutor. Offer your skills in test preparation, math, history, science or whatever you choose.
Babysitter: Help parents solve a problem. With most women returning to work shortly giving birth and young children returning from school before their parents get home from work, there is a huge need for babysitters. You can choose to sit during the day with babies and tots, sit in the afternoon while parents are still at work or do both.
Pet Sitter: There are many pet owners looking for a pet sitter to keep their pet while they are traveling for business or away on vacation. Others just need someone to walk their dog or stop by and feed their pet while they are away.
Home Gardner: Maybe you have a green thumb and enjoy gardening. Why not plant a few extra plants and sell your extra vegetables.
Affiliate Marketing: Search the internet for companies offering affiliate programs. You can find these companies by doing a Google search. Type in the field you are interested in and add +affiliates. For example if you are interested in vitamins you would type vitamins+affiliates. You will get pages of results so just pick one and sign up for their affiliate program.
