The new 55 gallon aquariums that are being produced today are made with quality a better overall look that will brighten up your home or office space. There are a few things to keep in mind so you don’t loose any fish due to shock in their new 55 gallon aquariums. And also ways to setup the tank so no issues arise.

Now it all depends on which route you will be going. For instance will you be going with a freshwater 55 gallon aquarium or salt water 55 gallon aquariums? There is another type of fish called a brackish fish that is found near fresh and saltwater areas but they are not as common as your regular salt or freshwater fishes. If you are going to go with a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium then there will be a lot more to take care of as far as tank maintenance goes. But it is all doable and is not much harder than running a freshwater 55 gallon aquarium. The saltwater tanks do offer a lot more colorful and variety of fish as compared to the freshwater fish but it depends on what you are going for in the overall outlook of the 55 gallon aquariums.

Setting up the 55 gallon aquariums takes some doing mainly because there is a lot more water to fill up in the tank and getting all of the levels just right for the fish can take some time. But it is all worth it when the tank is up and running in your home.

I would go out and get all of the supplies for the tank first before trying to purchase any fish hoping to put them in the same day. I would recommend that once the aquarium is all setup you let the water cycle for at least 24 hours before any fish are added to the tank. Get the water temperature up to about 80 degrees before introducing any fish to them.

When you put in your new fish you want to let the bag float for a bit before you cut it open, this will help get the water temperatures the same. After about 15 minutes start to add water from the tank to the bag so the fish will be more balanced when they are put in the tank. Once another 10 minutes or so passes go ahead and add the fish to the 55 gallon aquarium and you are all ready to go just repeat this step for each fish and you should have no problems with your new aquarium.
