Making Your Own Fishing Lures

Fishing's fun by itself, but if you really want to make fishing interesting you can make your own lures customized for the type of fish in your local lakes and streams. Most fisherman make some special kind of lure that works good for them. Now you can do the same. All that it takes is a creative mind and some good material, and maybe just a little help. Making your own lures is fun for the whole family or just to keep your children busy and out of trouble. Making lures is one of the many hobbies that i enjoy and would like to share with someone who can appreciate a special craft.

When i was growing up we used to go DeepSea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and we made our own lead weights because the currents where so strong that your line could drift a great distance from the boat. Since we were already making weights we decide to try making some lures to try instead of the live baits we were acustome to using, some worked and some didn't but thats what you have to do is try and keep trying till you find one that works well for you then use it too it's full poteintial.

Once you've found the joy and fun of making your own lures you can tell your friends what your doing and maybe get them started on their way to some fun,or they can work with you to create lures. The more ideas you come up with the better the possibilty of making some real nice lures. After you have mastered some simple lures you can also try yor hand at making Fly fishing lures and add them to your collection. You can get started at catchfindotcom there you can find tips on how to get started and even some fishing lure designs, and how to get your lures to be the best ever.

You can also learn how to make your own fishing rods for Fly fishing. if you have kids they may also find the joy and fun of making something that's their very own so try to get them interested . You can make lures durring the seasons when you can't always go outside because the weather is bad. This is a good way to spend time with the family without spending a lot of money. You can even sell your lures or send them to friends and family who enjoy fishing they can make a special gift for all occasions.

After you have gone to my starting point on how to make your own lures you can get the fun started and begin making lures of your own design . You can also use the info and share with boyscout troops or start a fishing lure making club the possibilities are endless. I have friends who make their own lures and have had success catching fish from them they also sell them at the local swapmeet or flea market depending on the size market. So good luck and happy fishing.
