Since 1997, a large number of people have been using the original Ab Doer. The new Ab Doer Twist, released in 2009, is advertised as a better designed version of the Ab Doer. As the name states the main change from the Ab Doer is that it accomplishes abdominal exercise through a twisting motion.
The Ab Doer Twist is designed with everyone in mind. The Abdoer Twist is easy to assemble and easy to put away once assembled. It folds down to a flatter shape for easy storage.
The Abdoer Twist claims to not only tone your abdominal muscles, but to make you healthier because it provides aerobic and anaerobic activity. Aerobic exercises are endurance exercises with minimal resistance such as running or swimming. Anaerobic exercise is resistance exercises at much higher resistance such as weightlifting. All of the exercises performed on the Abdoer Twist are performed from the seated position.
The Ab Doer Twist looks much like a new-age chair. It comes with a cushioned seat, back support and arm bars. The AB-DOer Twist is made of a thicker gauge steel and feels very sturdy. It comes with multiple resistances, but additional resistance rods may be purchased later for a more intense abdominal workout. The arm bars on the sides are ergonomically designed to decrease stress on the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, and upper back. The Abdoer Twist also comes with a roller that gives you a back massage while you exercise.
Because the Ab Doer Twist has ergonomically designed arm bars, has a massage roller for the back, and seated exercises, this device may be best suited for older individuals or people with exercise limits such as a bad back or a bad shoulder.
On Amazon.com, the average Ab Doer Twist review for this product is approximately 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. Most people seem to like this abdominal exerciser. The people that seemed to especially like it were the elderly and people with back problems. The most common complaint from those that gave it a poor review was that the resistance levels it came with were not very challenging. They seemed upset when they found out that you had to buy any new resistance rods if you needed them.
The Ab-Doer Twist comes with an instructional DVD and three workout DVDs aptly named beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The starter kit also includes a quick-start guide, an Accelerated Results booklet, and a Healthy Eating Plan.
On Abdoertwist.com you can buy the product for 4 payments of $49.99. On Amazon you can purchase the product for 136.25. This was as of 4/2/11.
