Grab A Jump Rope And Skip Yourself Fit And Slim

Nope, this is not a how to lose weight article as this is not my style, but more of a how to get your fitness flying using a skipping rope and reap the benefits that comes through practice which is a fitter more leaner you. Skipping frightens some people mainly because they do not know how to use a rope and do not want to look stupid, but you have to start somewhere and trust me, it eventually comes to you.

Why Use A Skipping Rope?

I am a fitness fanatic, but I am also a Chef and Writer, one on my feet all night, the other by the computer during the day, so finding time to make it to the gym can be hard (but must be done for sanity) but, having a skipping rope can be just a good as going to a gym, and can be used anywhere even at home.

Basically using a skipping/jump rope is a full body work out in its own and a fantastic cardiovascular work out. Incorporate it in to your work-out at home or at the gym, even as I do when I go for a run, I take the rope with me and have a skip half way through my run somewhere private if you like.

Targets

Using a skipping rope during a work-out will target your Arms, Legs, Calves, Shoulders, Bum, Feet Knees, and by learning to tense your Abs while skipping you can work on your stomach Just by doing around 20 mins skipping, or 3 different rounds of 7 mins to 10 mins or basically just skip until you can no more, you will surely get that heart rate pumping and burn calories faster and also strengthen muscles, skipping is really a great way of toning and I swear by the rope.

Get Skipping!

Yes I know it looks easy and is not, but you can learn how to skip pretty easy and quick. Just always have the right shoe, always stretch and warm up before any exercise, watch others doing it and do not be afraid to ask how. Start slow and eventually it will come to you. Always stay hydrated and for real results for your body in any fitness, always eat a balanced diet.

When you learn how to skip properly and start building up speed and confidence, adding it in to your work-out I can guarantee you will, like me, fall in love with the rope. And the best thing about a Skipping/Jump rope people tend to forget is, it is so cheap, there are thousands of quality ropes to use and they are so small and convenient you can really fit it in and take it anywhere (park, beach, gym, home, work). It is a must tool for anybody wanting to build up their fitness, tone their body, shed a few pounds and look cool in a gym ha, get skipping and enjoy.

Using a rope works the whole body, but you would need to be incorporating back exercises to build up muscle.

Nearly everyday. I warm up using a rope, or I bring it along with me when I go for a run in the morning. Maybe 2 days a week I would have boxing training and would use the rope for an hour, 3 mins each leg etc. You really can not beat the work out you can get from the rope and I always recommend incorporating it in to your fitness

I'm about to start Insanity The Asylum, which uses a jump rope for quite a bit of the cardio. Should be a fun exercise to mix into my routine.

I skip regularly at the gym and I think it is an excellent way to warm up. One thing that I do is I put skipping in between sets of weights. It keeps the heart rate going and allows me to get cardio while doing weights without impacting strength exercises to greatly.

Hi kyle, yep, I do that too. You really can't best the rope. I box a lot and combined with the rope at 34 I'm in top shape, I hope I can inspire others who read this to take it up as I honestly belive it is the perfect toner.
