The Shake Weight Workout- Is It For You?

What the heck is the shake weight workout? If you don't know what the shake weight is, I suggest you find the you tube video where Ellen DeGeneres uses one on her talk show. It is hilarious. This product came out in 2009 and has since been parodied on a handful of TV shows such as Ellen, SNL, and South Park.

As ridiculous as this product is, the idea of it seems to be pretty intriguing to a lot of people. It is still around two years after its initial launch, and there is actually two versions available now, one for men and one for women.

Lets take a look at exactly what this product has to offer in terms of a workout.

What Does It Do?

The shake weight is supposed to firm and define your arms, shoulders, and back simultaneously. The shake weight for men is slightly heavier than the women's version, and throws chest into that mix as well.

It is pretty much a glorified dumbbell that you shake back and forth to stimulate all of the above mentioned muscles at the same time. It claims to be up to 7x more effective than normal gym dumbbells.

How Long Does The Workout Take?

The advertisement claims that in as little as six minutes a day, you get a hardcore workout that tones and defines you muscles. This apparently can be done everyday, and the longer you use it, the harder and more intense it gets.

Where Do You Use It?

This product can be used in a variety of different places, but it is mainly targeted as an at home workout. It is very portable and could easily be taken to the office to use at lunch time, or in a hotel if on a business trip or away for vacation.

When Is The Best Time To Do The Workout?

That varies from person to person depending on your schedule. The workout can be done in the morning before work, at lunchtime, right when you get home from work, or just before bedtime.

Six minutes is a pretty quick workout, so whenever you have some free time and have the shake weight handy, you can grab it, give it a go, and get your workout in for the day.

Is The Workout Effective?

This depends on what you expect to get out of it. If you are trying to lose lots of weight or turn yourself into the incredible hulk, then this product is probably not what you are looking for. But if you are looking for something to have around the house that is easy, effective, gets the blood flowing and causes some good muscle burn, then this might be just what you are looking for.

I would recommend checking out some shake weight reviews before deciding to purchase. The shake weight is fairly inexpensive, but researching fitness products is always a good idea. You never know what your gonna find, and you might even stumble upon a coupon or bonus.
