TRX Suspension Training: Quality And Convenience

Many people these days are too busy to find time to dedicate to their health. Family, work, and social life are consuming our time and we are leaving out a very important aspect of our lives, our health. Even though I feel that there is always a way to find time each day to put towards exercise, most people just don't have this as a priority.

So today I want to introduce a relatively new and unknown piece of fitness equipment that is very accessible and can give you a tremendous workout called TRX Suspension Training.

Suspension Training may seem like an intimidating term, but I assure you it is nothing like that at all. A TRX is a strap system that hooks on to a horizontal beam or bar, or it can also be anchored to a door (TRX comes with a door anchor in the home edition). It uses your bodyweight as resistance and allows you to perform a variety of exercises with increasing intensities based on how much resistance you choose to have.

As much as I would prefer to see people dedicate more time to their health each day, I can only make a significant impact to my clients who I see on a regular basis. For the rest of the population, I am simply trying to get some sort of activity back in their day or challenge the experienced exerciser.

The TRX, in my opinion, is one of the best forms of exercise for people who only have time to get a workout quickly at home. It allows you to transition from exercise to exercise instantly, switching from chest to back or upper body to lower body in the blink of an eye. You can head to the basement and get a 30 minute workout that will both get your heart rate up and keep it up while doing resistance training to help increase strength and muscle, and burn fat.

I also like the social aspect of the TRX. It is very easy for a group of friends to do a workout together with 1 or 2 TRX. Gather 2-3 friends for 1 TRX and rotate through each exercise so that you work for 1 set and rest for 1-2 sets. For starters this will be a great way to introduce yourself to this piece of equipment. Once you become comfortable with it and begin to improve your strength and stamina, then you can begin to intensify the workouts.

Another great way the TRX can be used is for people who travel frequently. It comes in a unique mesh bag that stores in any travel bag or suitcase and takes up very little room. A door anchor is included which makes it very easy to set up and use at the hotel for a quick workout when you have some down time.

The TRX is a great way to get back into exercise. You can take it slowly and gradually increase the frequency and intensity over time within the comfort of your basement, your backyard, or even at a park by looping it around a tree or around a branch. There are plenty of exercises to do and many levels of resistance, so progression of exercises will always be available.

As summer is on its finishing legs, people are getting into the “back to school” mentality. It doesn’t matter what walk of life you are, that is the feeling we all get. It is a time for new beginnings just like our New Year’s Resolution. TRX Suspension Training is a tool that can benefit many people in many ways.

I hope this article gave you useful information on a quality piece of fitness equipment, but more importantly I hope it sparked your interest of getting back into exercise. If you are already a frequent exerciser, I hope you found a new piece of equipment that can help change things up for you and offer a new challenge. Thanks for reading.
