Now Is the Time to Start Juicing

If you have been thinking about improving your health, Juicing just might be your answer. Now I’m not talking about the juicing power lifters do, I’m talking about squeezing the juice out of fresh fruits and vegetables. With fresh fruits and vegetables you will get the juice in its purest form.

I know you are trying to provide yourself and your family with a proper diet and nutrition, but with the hectic lifestyle most people lead today finding the time to make the proper choices when it comes to meals is a work of art, if not almost impossible. It is so much easier to drive through a fast food joint, grab a microwaveable meal out of the freezer or call out for a pizza delivery.

Let’s talk about the juices the super markets are selling you. Have you actually looked at the nutritional label? I have and it is shocking how little real juice and how much sugar is in the “juice”. It’s no wonder our children are more susceptible to weight gain and Diabetes. Adults are no better, how many of you are drinking energy drinks or 44oz sodas? Are you drinking one right now? The so called energy drinks have up to 40 grams of sugar plus caffeine! (I personally do not know anyone that has just one energy drink or soda a day). Plus studies are coming out about how bad sugar is and how it may even be linked to some cancers.

The health conscience people know that juicing their own fruits and vegetables is the best thing to do. The problem is fresh fruits and vegetables do not have a very long shelf life. Plus they’re not always in season when you want to use them. There is a solution to this problem, the freezer. Here’s a tip on how to freeze your fruits and vegetables: First wash the produce, then cut to the proper size, lie on top of a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet, cover with wax paper and put into the freezer. When completely frozen take out of the freezer and transfer into a freezer bag and put back into the freezer. This way the individual pieces will not stick together and will be easier to defrost the proper serving size. Fruits and vegetables should last about 2-4 months frozen.

Here are some of the health benefits you will incur once you start adding a glass of fresh squeezed juice to your diet:

  • Gaining Energy: You will be pleasantly surprised at how much energy you will start to have. No more 2 o’clock crash.
  • Weight loss: When you begin juicing, eating right and a little exercise you will begin to see noticeable weight loss. (That is if you are overweight)
  • Lowering Blood Pressure: If you have high blood pressure beginning the proper diet and juicing program should start to lower your blood pressure naturally.

Obviously there are more benefits of juicing than the ones just mentioned but they will be discussed in another article.

In conclusion if you really want to start living a healthy and vibrant life there are a couple things you should do. If you don’t already own a juicer by all means purchase one ASAP. If you’re not sure what kind of juicer would be right for you and your family, do some research, read as many juicer reviews as you can until you find the juicer you like. Than go out and find as many juicing recipes as possible, purchase the ingredients and begin making healthy juice for your family. Juicing can be fun, healthy and nutritional for the whole family.
