Organic Fruit Juice: What’s so Special About Juice That’s Organic?

Many people are confused as to why anyone in their right mind would go out of their way to buy organic fruit juice, and sometimes pay more for it! Why is it any better than the regular stuff that we’re used to tossing into the grocery cart? Let’s check it out.

First off, let’s talk about the taste. We’ll use apple juice as a prime example to illustrate. Most people love apples. But most people don’t love apple juice. It tends to be a drink given to toddlers at snack time in their sippy cups, but it doesn’t often find itself being poured into an adult’s glass when a refreshment is in order. This is because the majority of apple juice out there; (you know, the clear, golden honey-colored liquid in the plastic bottle you buy from the sale display at the big supermarket), DOESN’T EVEN TASTE LIKE APPLES. It’s sicky-sweet and watery and smells funny.

As a contrast, try pouring yourself a nice cold glass of Cadia’s Organic Apple Juice. Take a sip. Ahhhhhh. Tastes like you just bit into a perfect crisp apple. Smells like an orchard, refreshes you and quenches your thirst. Okay, go ahead and chug the rest of it, there really is no other option for juice this delicious. Ahhhhhh. Now this is the kind of apple juice that wins enthusiastic requests all around the lunch table with shouts for second servings!

Hmm. So why doesn’t it look like apple juice? You can’t even see through it! It’s all brown and murky. Well, this is because it’s NOT just a bunch of sugar water with apple flavoring. It’s purely pressed apples. Organic ones at that. Which brings us back to the point in question. Why organic apples (or any other organic fruit)? Why not just regular apples, regular fruit? What’s the difference?

Organic produce is not sprayed or treated with pesticides, artificially enhanced fertilizers or any other chemicals. This is a big deal because those chemicals are bad news for your family who ingests them, the earth who absorbs them, the birds and other wildlife (and even the farmers) that get the chemicals all over them, the water table beneath the earth that absorbs them… you can see that the list will just go on and on, as the chemicals harm everything in a domino effect.

Those chemicals (used to make most commercial farming easier and cheaper) cling to the fruit and become mixed in like a toxic cocktail when juice is made with non-organic fruit. What’s the bad news about these chemicals? CANCER is enough of a reason for most folks to go organic once they realize what the non-organic stuff has all over it. There are a myriad of additional health problems that are caused by continuous exposure to the chemicals, but cancer is the one that hits home with just about everybody.

Organically grown food also is not genetically modified, which many non-organic mass produced foods are, presenting creepy possibilities of mutant bacterias and changing the structure of the once-healthy aspects of your grain/fruit/vegetables. This bad practice of messing with Mother Nature is perilous to all elements connected, just as the chemicals are. It affects the health of the soil, the organisms that live in the soil, the animals that eat those organisms, the water, and so on and so forth, posing unnecessary and unnatural problems all the way up the ladder to us.

Companies that care enough to grow their fruit organically are also conscientious of executing manufacturing practices that are environmentally friendly such as harnessing renewable energy, using reusable packaging, recycling, fair treatment of workers, etc. Healing the environment is something that all people should be doing at every opportunity, and the organic manufacturing of food and products is one of huge helpful steps in the right direction, whereas non-organic production techniques are continuing to damage our home-sweet-home for our children and their future generations.

There are increasing amounts of organic brands to choose from these days, as folks all around are beginning to catch on to a good thing. And to be perfectly honest, most of them are awesome and affordable but there are also some companies that haven’t quite mastered their art yet, and some that are much too expensive. In the past, shopping for organic juice meant going to a specialty health food store, but now that more people are realizing the importance of natural ingredients, organic products are popping up on shelves of markets everywhere. If you are new to this, it may be helpful to have an easy-to-follow list and guide of the best organic foods and products available, in order to know which brands offer the tastiest organic juice at affordable prices. You also may wish to further educate yourself as to the benefits of buying organic as well as the dangers of non-organic so that you understand in better detail the reasons switching to organic makes sense.

So, whether you’re driven by health concerns, a positive attitude toward helping our planet, or just FANTASTIC TASTE, stock your fridge with organic orange, mango, apple, guava, pineapple, pomegranate, blueberry, grape…whatever your juice fancy is, and feel great about it!
