Have you ever wondered why you were shopping for that right bottle of wine how pretty the label looks and how does that bottle of wine really taste, and does the year the wine was made really make a difference? Scratching your head thinking, "why is this so cheap"? Well, I have tried many wines and sometimes cheaper is better.
I usually look for good red wine because I am the queen of red wines, "just kidding". ( I do love my red wines though). "No really", I do love my red wine. When I first met Tom my boyfriend, he introduced me to wine ten years ago the year we started dating. Every time we would meet or he came over I thought I better get an expensive bottle or good bottle because I don't want him saying I buy just anything.
I would always get a fifteen dollar bottle or up. The more I drank different wines I knew what brands, colors, and types I prefer. You can get away with a cheaper bottle and have more by getting two or three bottles for the price of one.
We now get wines that are under ten dollars, Tom's brother laughs because when we invite him over he knows we don't spend a lot of money on our wines so he will still bring a couple of bottles for us to drink because he thinks we buy just any bottle. I think it's funny but ok bring your own then. We will save ours for us.
Well, to me I think what I pick out taste good and if I like it, I will write it down and buy it again even if it only cost six dollars. If I get the same result in the end. "who cares".
The most expensive bottle of wine I drank was from Tom's cousin at a party and he gave me a glass of red wine, I forget the name but it was 150 dollar bottle. I thought it was good yes if you have this kind of money or you want to buy because you are curious of taste and difference.
I would rather buy cheap so you get more as long as you know you like it, get it again and it not leave it alone. I found a lot of good under ten dollars.
I don't see myself buying expensive wines ever. After the experience I've had with good cheap wines unless someone wants to buy an expensive bottle for me. Then hay of course I will take it and drink it. "It won't go to waste".
I never was good at picking out white wines because once I acquired that taste for red wines, white wine I rarely have and don't drink enough of. I use a lot of white for cooking. Just to let you know, a few months ago I bought 20 bottles of red wine, a mixture of cabs, Pinot's, Merlot's, Sirah's, and Cabernet's for 150 dollars. Why buy one bottle of expensive wine when you can buy many bottle's and fill up your wine rack that will last you all month.
Some of you might agree or disagree this is just a personal preference and matter of opinion. I love going and picking out so many wines though it is a hobby of mine and a fun experience.
