A dietary supplement, also known as food supplement or nutritional supplement, is a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids missing or consumed in not sufficient quantities in a person's diet. Some countries define dietary supplements as foods, while in others as drugs or natural health products.

Dietary supplements can help you to lose weight, or build more muscle mass, or some extra energy that you need for your training.

Dietary supplements for lean muscular body

Whey protein

If you are looking for building muscle mass, losing fat or to improve performance in sport weight protein can help you to get those results faster. Whey protein is one of the fastest digesting proteins available, meaning it gets absorbed and used by your body quickly. Faster recovery means faster results. Take it immediately after your workout. Whey protein works to increase muscle protein synthesis, reduces muscle breakdown and helps improving muscle strength, growth and repair.

Creatine

If you what to increase your strength and muscle mass, than creatine is the right thing for you. Creatine is a compound that's involved in the production of energy in the body, in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Most of the creatine is stored in the muscles where it helps to regenerate ATP from ADP. ATP is the molecule in muscles which "gives" the muscle energy while you are training. Creatine may also decrease muscle fatigue. It appears to reduce lactic acid, an energy waste product that causes muscle fatigue. Also it increase the muscle mass, by adding water into your muscle cells.

L-Carnitine

L-Carnitine will help you to lose weight and belly fat. It is a molecule that transports fat molecules into the cells where the are "burned". It increases the energy levels and helps you training. So will give you energy for your training and at the same time it will increase fat burning.

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins serve crucial functions in almost all bodily processes (immune, hormonal and nervous systems) and must be obtained from food or supplements as our bodies are unable to make vitamins. Vitamins will help you to recover after your training. Vitamins such as vitamin c are important for muscle recovery. Minerals, especial Mg are very important for muscles and muscle recovery. By taking the correct types and amounts of vitamins on a regular basis your body is going to feel refreshed. As you feel refreshed, you will be able to participate and continue in your sport longer than if you were not using any type of vitamins.
