We constantly use our feet. In reality these are our greatest assets, our body tools carrying all our weight, climbing stairs, walking , running, sometimes stuck in sweaty training or work shoes and sometimes for up to 12 hours (I'm a chef and when I work a long day, I can be stuck in work shoes up to 14 hours yuk) so you really always have to take care of your greatest asset.
But as a person in to fitness, constantly using our feet it is of great importance and a must that we regularly take care of our feet, on a nightly or weekly basis because if you do not you will encounter sore feet and foot-problems, which can effect your whole body and also your mind, here are some tips to taking care of your feet, giving them the love they need and deserve......
Ways To Love Your Feet
1. Soaking. This is my favorite way to look after my feet, a good hot soaking. Using a basin, add in warm water, a little hot but you will get use to it, some foot soak Radox etc. and leave soaking for around 15 minutes. It is so relaxing, especially if you have trained or worked hard and this should be done as regular as you can.
2. Add some salts, bath salts, sea salt, regular salt, baking soda etc. that will help clean your feet and soften the skin.
3. Scrub. If you have time, take out your feet and pat dry, relax for another five minutes leaving the air to help your feet breath, then use some foot-scrub oils and a scraper and give them a good scrubbing (this can prevent soreness), then wipe clean and the best part, put on your most comfortable socks you have, it is pure bliss and in looking after your feet like this you are benefiting your whole body but also your mind.
4. Your Shoe. Very very important especially if you do a lot of sports and training. Knowing your foot type is as important and can easily be found out by visiting your local shoe store.
