Let the Tebowing Begin: Tim Tebow Hits New York

The latest news out of the New York Jets fans: Let the Tebowing begin, Tim Tebow hits New York!

Surprised? You are not alone. Many of the experts simply do not understand this move, and head coach Rex Ryan is not helping much by pretty much keeping mum of the situation.

Was Tim picked for his fan appeal?

Coach Ryan made a statement addressing that very question saying that his popularity with the fans had nothing to do with the Jets decision.

I found that hard to believe, considering they held a press conference for Tim on Monday, for a back up quarterback mind you, that was so big they had to move it out of their normal meeting place. When was the last time you saw a back up player have a press conference?

His cool demeanor was quite impressive as he came out alone, addressed the press, and did a great job handling all the reporters.

Will Tim be the Jets Starting Quarterback?

Not according to the coach and their starter now, Mark Sanchez. Both say he is there to help the team wherever he can, and Coach Ryan even went as far as to say he would consider using Tim for up to 20 snaps a game. One has to wonder just how Sanchez will deal with loosing playing time.

In a conference call Mr. Sanchez said he felt absolutely no threat form the Tebow signing, but is that not what he is expected to say?

Is there really any chance of Tim having success in New York?

He is entering one of the most disfuntional locker rooms in the NFL, and while Sanchez is by far the superior passer between the two, it seems he does not have the ability to control his offence at times. If he falters this season the calls from the crowd for "Tebow" " Tebow " will be so loud they will hear them in Denver, and one can bet Mr. Ryan will not hesitate to pull Sanchez.

I believe this young Quarterback has a huge future in the NFL, and his leadership qualities and his all around niceness will take him a long way.

While it may be unfortunate to be in Mark Sanchez's position, some people when put under fire react with a drive that separates them from the average Joe, and this may be Mr. Sanchez's time to show all the skills it takes to command a championship team.

This should be an interesting season for the New York Jets.

Tebow is a class act, too rare it seems in professional sports, I hope he does well.

Shawn, I am disappointed that Tebow will be backup this year - at least for the first game. He is the type of leader that could change the Jets offense into a group that actually plays together (instead of against each other). NY/NJ is a rough place from a fan perspective, though and I hope the fans aren't too tough on him.

I think he has what it takes to handle the fans, I really do. Should make for an interesting year.

Sorry Kyle, I have a bad habit of hitting the delete instead of reply button. I did this on your last comment. I guess you are right, he was more of a running back last year. :)

Jets now officially have 2 quarterbacks with no arm. That is a perfect rotation, unfortunately unless Shonn Greene turns into the monster, they are going to have no chance at making the Super Bowl.

Am I the only one that thinks Tebow would make a great running back?

Shawn, Yes! I saw the press conference. What may be most interesting is if the two of them -- Mr. Tebow and Mr. Sanchez - are truly able to practice together, team together and learn to work as a true team. The range of the Jets' response to any situation can grow. And that can become a game changing combination! blessings, Cynthia blessings, Cynthia

It would be a good thing. I really thought he would fit in with the eagles much better, but I guess time will tell.

Shawn, Perhaps! But fans of the Jets are already excited about the Jets locating headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. There's tens of thousands of college students nearby. Plus the New York team's New York City fans have lost none of their enthusiasm. Add in the volume of media and the sheer volume of people -- the Jets are in a unique position to benefit from a game changing step of two top players actually working together. Switching back and forth, getting to both freak the opposing team out and REST. Perhaps an unbeatable combination! blessings, Cynthia
