Mr Irrelevant: Where Will Tim Tebow Go?

First thing this morning I was informed that Peyton Manning had picked one of my favorite Teams, The Denver Broncos, as the team he wants to play for. Normally news like this would make a person happy, but me being a Tim Tebow fan, this news did not make me smile. I had to ask myself where will Tim Tebow go?

The man who turned Denver's franchise around

I am really doing my best to digest this news with a business attitude. Yes, it does make sense to take a quarterback as good a Peyton if available, and I know it is always good business to pick someone who will benefit your organisation the most, right? Well, I am not so sure that this was the best choice. Lets take a look.

Before Tim Tebow started his first game in Denver, the Broncos were on a down word spiral and people were calling for heads to roll.

Along came Tim, and all of a sudden it was fun to watch the Broncos again.Everyone started jumping on the Tim Tebow band wagon and football had a new face to root for, or against..People were tuning in to see if he could pull another win out of his helmet and he was doing just that.

He took the team to the playoffs and all of a sudden Tim Tebow was a household name.

You either loved him or hated him.

You are only as good as your last game

Tim's last game to date in Denver of course was a loss that knocked them out of the playoffs, and if the above statement is true, and I believe it is, it opened the door and in came all the detractors.

He can't keep winning, he can't throw the ball, and on and on.

Seems to me a guy who brought so much good to a loosing team should deserve a bit more than a thanks for last year, now have a seat.

Where will Tim Tebow go?

I really believe he will either be released or traded to a team in need of a Quarterback.I do not see him staying in Denver and taking a back seat to Peyton.

What I would love to see is for him to hook up with the Eagles. Yes, the Eagles.Think about it. Everyone's biggest complaint is his style, and who else can you think of with a similar style in the NFL? Only one guy comes to mind, and that's Michael Vick. Since Michael seems to not be able to play a whole year, the possibilities are endless to use both players. Also, think of the rushing yards the two could put up!

Ahh, but to dream. I am looking forward to see how the rest of this off season plays out!

Street Talk

Shawn, Sports does seem to turn on a dime! Now 950 million of them ($95M) for a replacement. Hmm. If he's NOT important to the team's turnaround, why does it take $95,000,000 to replace him? Seems he's made the franchise worth a lot more. blessings, Cynthia

Looks like Mr. TIm Tebow is joining the Jets as a backup. Interesting! If you draw any circle on a map with Jets headquarters at the center there's a whole lot more people in it. And most of them seem to be interested in following the Jets, too. So he's sure going to get lots more media attention. His influence will rise. Especially with the kids. blessings, Cynthia

Funny, they just released a statement saying his popularity had nothing to do with them picking him, hmmmm :)

Just like AJ, I haven't followed closely this year either. I do love NFL, NBA and of course European football (soccer) is the biggest of them all in the Caribbean but believe me, over the last ten years the Super Bowl has become humongous down here! Seems this year was a very interesting year in NFL though. I only watched the Superbowl this year of all the football games! I know, just not good enough :) Think I am going to follow the entire season come September though!

I did not follow football as closely this season as past ones, probably because I had too many injuries on my Fantasy team. But, I was inspired by Tebow's story and how pure his faith is. He did fantastic things with the Broncos because he made the team believe they could do it (in my humble opinion).

I was surprised in reading today that they took all of Tebow's pictures down in Denver's front office. A little drastic I think.

Very true AJ, he did seem a great inspiration this year from what I have gathered.

The adage your only as good as your last has seen the demise of so many sportsmen throughout the world. Years ago a loss was not blamed on an individual but the team would get the pep talk and they where left to pull together and grow. Today they are far to quick to blame one man and with the money involved he is never given the chance to regroup. I still cannot get my head around this practice. Good men have bad days, good teams can loose and make it look like an individuals fault. It happens in all sports.

Here here, Rob. I'm with you. One bad game does not a bad player make! So many losses are blamed on the kicker for not scoring the final field goal. What about the 20 or so balls dropped near the end zone during the game? They are forgotten and only the last mistake remembered.

Good points. How about Peytons new paycheck? 95 Million for 5 years. We are all in the wrong business. :)

I think you are right. I need to get in shape and figure out how to be a football player- not that a female football player of my size would go over very well.

I heard that Manning was going to the Broncos. I don't follow sports, or anything, as much as I should/could. But, I am interested to know what will happen to Tebow. As a side note, we really enjoyed the video mix of him on youtube "All He Does Is Win." At least, that's what I think it was called.

I guess we'll have to play the waiting game until something is decided.
