Did you stay up late one night and catch the commercial for Mr Lid? Yeah me too. I was drawn in by the product because it is incredibly simple, and almost too obvious of a solution to my food storage issues. Obvious can be a good thing and I am actually really happy with the Mr Lids that I purchased. I'm going to explain why.
My Opinion
1. Durability
Mr lid is made of really durable material (from what I've experienced so far.) I've washed my Mr lids in the washing machine over ten times now on the hottest setting and they have lasted. I had issues with my past tupperware containers melting when I threw them in the washer but that doesn't seem to be an issue with the Mr Lid. So my rating for durability is a 5/5.
2. Usefulness
I'm a college student, so I have to save money wherever I can. I like to make meals at home and take them with me on the go. I've found that Mr Lid is a really cool way to take food because you don't have to worry about the lid getting anything dirty, since it just stays on the container the whole time. I used to take the lid and place it underneath the tupperware container but it would usually leave some kind of residue on the bottom, and it frustrated me. Mr lid solves this problem.
3. Pricing
Pricing is fairly good. If you get the special discount they are running now then you can get twenty containers for just $20. There are some additional shipping fees but it doesn't come out to that much. Considering you get twenty of these things and roughly a dollar a pop, you can't really go wrong. Tupperware at the grocery store can cost around two dollars per piece so you are getting a pretty slick deal.
Overall review?
There are many positive mr lid reviews online, but my quick rating for it is a 9.5/10.
I'd suggest that you buy the Mr lid if you are looking for tupperware because the price is good, and the quality is very high. I think they offer a refund guarantee so if you don't want it you can always just send it back anyway. At the end of the day, it is just tupperware and you pretty much get what you see on the commercial. It is a great product, and it is very useful! If you are on the fence about the Mr. Lid, I suggest giving it a shot.
Mr Lid is a con. Mr Lid TV ad and website states buy one set for $19.95 and get second set FREE. I just ordered one set for supposedly 19.95 plus 7.95 s&h from Mr Lid official website. I followed order instructions exactly, in fact there are no options available. As per the TV ad etc I expected to be billed $19.95 for first set plus $7.95 s&h plus $7.95 for second FREE set. There was no page to review my order before it was placed so I could not see what I was going to be charged, the payment portal goes straight from the details page to the bill, nowhere to review order. That is outrageous and a con. When I saw bill they charged me $39.95 for the set, they charged a further $39.95 for the set that was supposed to be FREE plus $31.80 for shipping, a total of $111.70. The total bill should have been $19.95 + $7.95 + $7.95 total $35.95 There was no link on the order confirmation email to review order or change it, just a phone number. I have tried 12 times to call, but phone is not answered, I tried to call the order line but that is automated so they get you there as well, so I have written a letter. I had no reply from letter and depite their claim that they do not bill card until order is dispatched, I was billed immediately. They state delivery is 6 weeks, they dispated in 3 days, I guess to avoid complying to my letter. These people are con merchants, do a web search and you will see many complaints.
