Goal Setting Steps  -  Increase Motivation

Motivation as defined by onlinedictionary:

mo-ti-va-tion [moh-tuh-vey-shuhn]

noun

1. the act or an instance of motivating, or providing with a reason to act in a certain way: I don't understand what her motivation was for quitting her job.

Synonyms: motive, inspiration, inducement,cause, impetus.

2. the state or condition of being motivated: We know that these students have strong motivation to learn.

3. something that motivates; inducement; incentive: Clearly, the company's long-term motivation is profit.

So how do you motivate yourself? I have always found it hard to motivate myself and I have found that these techniques I mention below are the best ways for me to motivate myself, I hope these will help for you as well.

So I have put together a little list of techniques that can help you motivate you to get where you want to go.

Techniques to increase motivation:

1st

Goal, you have to identify your goal(s) and you have to be as specific as possible. For example me, my one goal is to make a full time income over the internet. Maybe your goal is to loose weight so that you can fit into a specific outfit, or just to look great. In order to do this you have to create a reasonable goal and along with that goal you have to create a reasonable plan to reach that goal.

My goal is to make enought moeny online so that I can quit my day job, to enable me to pay for whatever my daughter needs, without having to think, and to be able to travel wherever I want, when I want.

2nd

List, write a list of reasons why it will be important for you to reach your goal. Envision your goal while you read your list every morning even if you don't feel like it. Read it also when you feel tempted to forget about you plan, this is very important!

You can guess what is number one on my list, yup FINANCIAL FREEDOM!

3rd

Credit, give yourself credit whenever your behavior is accordance with your goal(s) or when you avoid behavior that will take you away from your goal(s)

4th

Accountability, make yourself accountable by telling a friend or someone you trust or even a group of people.

5th

Baby steps, break your goals down to baby steps. It will take time and steps to get where you want to go, don't make the mistake of thinking it will happened over night. Babies never start walking over night, they begin by crawling. I started crawling and it started seriuosly with finding a teaching community online who got me started with my own blog which I called FinallyMakeit-online.

6th

Deprivation, you wont be without discouragement, disappointment or deprivation, so do what you can and prepare.

7th

Reward, it is important to recognize when you have accomplished something so decide on how you will reward yourself once you reach a sub-goal.

8th

Off Track, to avoid getting of track look at your plan daily, and if you see anything that needs adjustment, adjust it accordingly.
