How to Find Reasonably Priced Golf Clubs

Nearly every golfer wants to know how to find reasonably priced golf clubs. Those who are just learning how to play the game are especially interested in affordable golf equipment.

Golfers know, however, that it is not enough for the golf clubs to be reasonably priced. They also must be of a high enough quality to help improve their game.

After all, what does it matter if you find affordable golf clubs if you’re not making many birdies. You won’t be happy with inexpensive golf clubs if you are still making bogeys, double bogeys or worse.

You want your clubs to help you hit fairways and greens, and you want clubs that will help you get out of trouble when you end up in the rough or the bunker.

When you get on the green you want a putter that gives you confidence. You want to feel like you can sink any putt no matter where you are on the putting surface.

There are two approaches to finding reasonably priced golf clubs. You can search for affordable clubs that are used or you can try to find inexpensive clubs that are new.

How to Find Reasonably Priced Golf Clubs that are Used

For used golf clubs, you might try a website with localized settings such as Craigslist. You have to do a little research after you find a potential seller, which often makes it tough to find truly good deals because the best bargains are usually snapped up rather quickly. You can find some reasonably priced clubs if you can be patient.

Another option for affordable golf equipment is golf stores or pro shops in your area. Both these tend to run on the pricey side, so you’ll have to be selective. They usually reduce the price on clubs that don’t sale for a while, but there’s often a reason why those clubs haven’t sold. You can still find a deal, you’ll just have to use good judgment when you buy.

You can often find low-priced golf clubs at yard sales and flea markets. The downside to this strategy is the time involved. You’ll have to do a lot of legwork, so be ready to drive around a lot on Saturday mornings if you’re going to try this.

How to Find Reasonably Priced Golf Clubs that are New

New clubs are almost always expensive, but you can find affordable new golf clubs if you know where to look.

One option is to look for sales at local pro shops and golf stores. This is often a matter of being in the right place at the right time. You’ll need to check often to find clubs in your price range.

A better strategy is to find a website that sells quality clubs at an affordable price. Finding sites that sell reasonably priced golf clubs takes a little research, but a little effort can go a long way. Make sure you find a site that gives customer reviews. That will let you know the kind of clubs you’re buying.

Finding reasonably priced golf clubs is more science than art, but if you’re willing to look in the right places, you’ll soon be playing with the perfect set of clubs for your game.

Hi Rob. You can find some good deals on trade-ins. Sometimes folks buy expensive clubs, then decide they don't want to play anymore. That's when you can find some really good deals. Unfortunately that doesn't happen very often.

I haven't played golf yet, but I have found that Craig's list, garage sales, etc. are great ways to find what I need. It pays to be frugal, as long as you don't "settle" for something you won't be happy with in the long run. I enjoyed your article. It's timely because garage sales are in season and people often hold onto sports equipment until the season begins before they list, so there could be many options.

Hi Rebecca. I have to be careful when I'm looking for one thing and see something else that looks like a great buy, but I don't really need it. A few days later, I'm wondering why I bought it.
