How To Golf

Do you want to learn how to golf and need to know where to start? If so then you are at the right place. Today i will go over the fundamentals of golf and what you will need learn to play golf. Just like a baby will learn to crawl before he or she walks, you need to learn the basics of how to golf before jumping right in. It is important to learn and develop the proper basic golf fundamentals first, this will give you the best chance to becoming a great golf player.

The first and most important thing when learning how to golf is mastering the basic fundamental of the golf swing. This is important because it will allow you to have a solid golf swing which is essential to playing good golf. Now lets look at the golf swing but more specifically how the golf swing can be broken down into smaller steps that will setup you up for a successful swing.

Golf grip:

First you must learn when learning how to golf is how to grip the golf club. There are 3 basic grips you can choose from. The overlap, interlock, and 10 fingered grip. The most common is the overlapping grip.Choose whatever feels the most natural When griping to golf club make sure not to squeeze the grip, but hold it lightly and the pressure should come from the pads of your hands, not the palms and maintain consistent pressure trough-out the swing.

Posture and stance:

When learning how to golf you also must have the correct posture and stance. The first tip is to not over exaggerate. You want to address the ball so you feel comfortable. When standing over the golf ball have your left hand (right hand players) and club shaft in a straight line. This will give you the a good chance at achieving a good impact position. Next your feet should be shoulder with apart, and knees slightly flexed. This will allow good leg action in your golf swing.Your body weight should be distributed evenly on your feet.

Ball position:

The last basic fundamental when learning how to golf is ball position within your stance. I will explain the most common way to position the golf ball in your stance but when starting out just position the ball so you feel comfortable. I recommend when starting out that you want to play your woods, irons, and wedges off your inside front heal. This will give you the best chance to deliver the club face square to golf ball.

I hope this helps people who are learning how to golf with some of the basic fundamentals you need to know for a good golf swing. Remember to practice your basics and learn them before trying to learn new swing techniques. It is also important to have fun when learning how to golf. Take your time on developing a good swing and you will be well on your way to playing good golf.
