The Masters Golf 2011 - Tiger Woods Left Knee - Tigers Achilles Heel?
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

Tiger Woods comes to The Masters Golf 2011 trying to reclaim his title as The Master, the #1 player in the world. When he exploded on the golf scene at age 20 winning his third consecutive U.S. Amateur title. Tiger captivated the world. He was the youngest -- ever -- to win The Masters; he won by an incredible 12 strokes. He went on a tear -- shattering Jack Nicklaus' early records. His golf game plummeted during the last several years for a number of reasons -- injuries and his disastrous personal life.

As you watch Tiger attempt his comeback this week in The Masters 2011, watch for his "new" swing. His new swing coach Sean Foley has been working with Tiger to perfect a new swing.

Could the reason why Tiger wants Foley help him "Fix My Golf Swing" due to the condition of his left knee -- what I call his Achilles heel?

Tiger Woods left knee has a history of problems

Tiger had that knee operated on in 1994, seventeen years ago. Then in 2002 he had arthroscopic surgery on that knee. In 2008 he had major surgery again on his left knee to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Also in 2008 Tiger suffered a double stress fracture of his left tibia (shin bone). The cause of these injuries was apparently due his tough training to prepare himself physically for the demanding golf swings he demands of himself.

Consider Tigers powerful golf swing

Tiger addresses the ball, knees slightly flexed, his back straignt. During his backswing, his hips and shoulders rotate with his core building up a powerful torque. Yet his left foot remains steady. As he unleashes this power by rotating his core toward the target, his left foot still remains steady. There is much stress on his left knee during this swing.

If you watched Tiger closely in 2008 you could see him grimace with pain following his golf swing. His knee injuries were taking their toll. Now that his ACL has been repaired and the long rehab and training are complete, the question is: Is Tiger ready to compete like the Tiger of old in his early professional years?

Could his vulnerable left knee be the reason why Tiger is creating a "new" golf swing with the help of his swing coach Foley? Is his new swing designed to take some of the stress off his left knee?

Watch Tigers powerful golf swings closely in The Masters Golf 2011

Watch Tiger's left knee and his left foot. Does his left foot move a bit toward the target, taking a bit of stress off the rotation of his knee? Watch his left knee. Does it look strong and stable?

Watch Tiger's expressions. Does he show any signs of pain following his swing?

What do you think? Will Tiger's left knee indeed become his Achilles heel and cause the demise of his top ranking in the world of golf?

The Masters Golf 2011 will be exciting. Be there!.
