Five Fabulous Tips to Entertaining Young Grandchildren

Tips to Entertain Young Grandchildren

If you are going to be entertaining young children between the ages of 4 to 10 years, there is no doubt that you are going to need all the energy that you can get. There are a lot of options when it comes to things that you can do with them, and here are a few to get you going.

Playgrounds

For starters, kids love the playground, and this can be your first stop to getting them entertained. There is so much they can do there, from playing football, playing on the swings as well as other activities. For one, you can even get them to bring their bikes so that they can ride around the playground until they get tired of it. If you wanted, you could even have the kids bring out their army of toys, so that they can play, share and laugh. There are so many possibilities with taking the kids to the playground, you just need to get creative.

Zoo and Museums

The zoo or museum is also a great place for children. Not only would it be fun for them, it could also be a great learning experience. For instance, if you decided to take them to the zoo, they would be able to see all the different animals and learn about ther uniqueness. If you opted to take them to the museum, they would get a great lesson in history and learn about all the animals that have existed in the past. One of the most least expensive and memorable activities you can do is take them to a local airport. Sit outside by the fence, most have benches, just watch the planes take off and land. It is an awesome experince to watch your grandchildren get so excited.

Hiking

If you love hiking, you can get the kids to enjoy it too. Because you will be doing it with the kids, you will have to take it a little easier on them, by making sure that you have all the supplies that are needed and the course that you choose is easy to do. Also, to make it more comfortable for them, make sure that all the kids are in their little caps, comfortable shoes and that they have sunscreen on. Also, it would help if the weather is not too hot, so that no one gets sunburned.

Wii

If there is one way to entertain kids these days, it is to make sure that you have a wii and lots of wii games. Just doing this will get you to win them over, and they will love you for it. Out of all the methods that you can use to entertain children, I can honestly say that this is the one method that will probably be more popular among the children if they had to vote and decide what they wanted to spend their time doing. The games can be very interactive, but you can also choose something that is not just fun to do, but educational.

Baking

Here is another activity that you can use to entertain kids that age, which is baking. It might not be your typical activity for most kids that age, but you will be surprised how much children love imitating their mothers in the kitchen, best of all they love helping out. If you can do a little baking session with them, they will have a lot of fun and they can even pick up a tip or two that they can use to impress in the kitchen.

As you can see, it is not a difficult thing to entertain children, all you need to have is some creativity and some patience. You might even get them to come up with suggestions, the important thing is just for them to have some fun.

Street Talk

Ken, Good ideas! I've done some baking with my niece and nephew who are in that age range. I found out they love to squish out cookie dough onto the cookie trays most! Followed by icing cookies. Once with both of them and 3 of their friends. Set the artwork into boxes... blessings, Cynthia
