Hi friends,

Today I am going to talk about forgetting the past and moving on. What can we do to forget those unwanted thoughts that have been haunting us and move on. How can we avoid our past to destroy our future. Many times it happens in our life that we believe we are not capable of achieving what we desire because in the past we tried and failed. When we put in our efforts and fail to achieve our purpose we give up and say “That’s it, I cannot do it” and we never give it a second try just because we failed once. A very practical example which you might have heard many times is that of a baby. When a baby learns to walk he falls on numerous occasions .Each time he stands up and again tries to walk and finally one day he starts walking. Have you ever heard of any baby who gave up walking after one or two attempts? The answer is NO. No baby does that. But as we grow up we think we are smart enough not to give a second try. We need to understand that what mistakes we committed in the past and what wrong decisions we took is PAST. We have already paid for our mistakes and we don’t need to pay again.

When we were born we came with all tools needed with success. Nobody is born to fail but as we grow up we let our surroundings and our experiences govern what is coming up next. Just because we failed doing something we make a note of it and develop a belief that it cannot be done. Successful people never do that. THEY NEVER GIVE UP.

Studies have shown that we have our past experiences engraved in our mind. They have a place in our brain. Of course we cannot open up our mind and slice that portion which contains those unwanted memories but we as a human being have power to replace them. Consider for example if a person fails in love. He is grief stricken and every time he finds someone attractive, someone he wanted to fall in love with he is reminded of the lost love. So he backs up and says “See I cannot do this. I am not meant to be loved or love someone because I have failed in love once”. This way he is going nowhere and of course he cannot fall in love again. We as a human being have the power to choose our thoughts. No other living creature has been given that advantage. If the same person says “What if I failed in love once. I don’t think I cannot fall in love again. In fact I very much deserve to be loved and to love.” Now the same person has much more chances of finding a right soul mate and living a fulfilling life. This is not a rocket science which I am telling. In fact it is very practical and most of you would agree with me.

We need to take command of our thoughts. Our thoughts are our most priceless commodity. Whenever a frustrating or sad memory flashes in your mind instantly replace it with a pleasant thought, something beautiful from the past. Believe me within few minutes you will start feeling better and much in control of yourself. It is just a THOUGHT. It is what you are thinking and you can very much take control of it. You will find that if you continue this practice of replacing old unwanted thoughts with a pleasant one slowly those unwanted thoughts will lose their power and no more return to you. This not only applies to past but also to fears which we have about future. This is what is called POSITIVE THINKING about which I will talk about in my future articles.

So friends it is time to just forget about the past and move forward in life. Its time to learn from past failure but never think that you are a failure. Its time to live a more fulfillingand rewarding life, a life of your dreams.

Best of Luck
