Four Main Hair Loss Causes

There are many causes of hair loss in both men and women. This article highlights the top 4 reasons that hair starts thinning and eventually falls out.

The average person will lose over 100 hairs in a typical day. For someone not experiencing hair loss, their scalp will continue to produce hair from healthy follicles and keep up with this daily loss. However, for those suffering from hair loss, the follicles have likely been depleted in health. When this occurs it is important to find which type of hair loss you are suffering from in order to tackle the problem head on (no pun intended). There are many natural and commercial products which help stop your hair loss in its tracks and promote regrowth.

1. Genetics

Lets face it, the main reason that most people experience baldness is because of genetics. If you aren't malnourished and start to lose your hair at an early age it is likely that genetics is what caused it. If you are unsure about your hair loss look at some of your family members around you. Does your Dad have a full head of hair? Are either of your grandfathers bald? By answering these questions you can find which type of hair loss you are currently suffering from. Hair loss from genetics usually leads to Androgenic Alopecia aka male pattern baldness. Men will notice hair start to recede at the temples and eventually move its way back to the crown.

2. Aging

As you get older, it is harder for your body to distribute nutrients like it used to and sometimes the health of your hair can be depleted. The general aging of a person will cause more health risks in general, and it is important to stay healthy. As aging occurs some men also experience Andropause which will lead to a decreased amount of testosterone. Shortages of testosterone in the body can make hair fall out as well.

3. Disease or Illness

There are certain diseases which can cause the hair to fall out. People who have diabetes and lupus have reported hair loss. Also illnesses or diseases in general can be very detrimental to ones health over time and hair loss is a common side effect. The other problem with illness or disease is that they can usually lead to depression and stress, two other causes of hair loss.

4. Diet

An unhealthy diet without proper hydration and nutrition is a hair loss cause you can control. It is important to eat healthy proteins and grains while limiting fats. Also, drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day is necessary. Remember your hair follicles need good health too and will feed off the vitamins going into your body.

By learning hair loss causes it is easier to find your hair loss solution. There are other causes of hair loss outside this article but these are the main 4 that people suffer from. Remember the earlier you try to start hair regrowth the better chance you have in the process.
