Planning Your Life

Does your life have a plan? Do you have a pretty clear idea of what you want out of the 120 or fewer years you’ve been allotted? If not today is a great day to put a good plan together to guide you. Planning your life will be one of the most rewarding things you do because it gives peace of mind and clarity. When the vision is clear, it is easier to drive, fly a plane, and do anything. When the vision is blurred, you have to reduce speed, delay flights, and move cautiously because you cannot see clearly. If you can learn how to understand the correlation above; it will do much for you.

I had no clear vision of what I was trying to do in life; a new idea would come along and poof I would jump on it, I had no plan and if I had something that looked like a plan, I was easily distracted. I know where you’re at or have been. What you can do to begin the road to eliminate that behavior is to know what it is you want to do. If you had no barriers preventing you from doing whatever goal you wanted in life; what would you do with you life. In the bible Solomon, the great wise king of Israel said, “A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps.”

If we plan it, we can expect God to direct us along the way. Many self-help gurus and motivational speakers have to take God out of the equation because they address a wide audience; but for Christians we simply replace Universe, Creator, and Energy with God Almighty. If we simply sit down and write out a plan for ourselves and have faith in it; God will direct our steps in the mission. You would not go into a bank and say I need a loan for $100,000 would you; so why do you ask God for help with no plan for what you’re asking. The secret to this is to go semi-fictional… that is to write a fictional story about what you want to do in life, make it detailed and you’ll have an outline to go off of.

In this semi-fictional story of how you want your life to go; include how much it takes financially and what it takes emotionally. You can find details to this by talking to others who are doing or have done what you’re attempting to do. Read your story at least once a week… Remember Jesus said what kind of man goes into a feat without seeing if he is prepared for the entire battle? Such a person will get mocked (Luke 14 v27-35); so know what you are up against jot down the cost associated in making your successful in your goal.

Notify your family and go do it. After you have the plan, you acquired the faith, the financial and emotional cost associated to succeed, notify those who spend a lot of time with you and go for the gold. When I changed my life spiritually and had the awakening of Jesus the Unknown God; I had to let my family and friends know there were certain things I don’t do any more. When I made a goal to share my life experiences with others to help and guide my peers to success with biblical principles; I had to notify people who were use to me hanging out with them that I had to devote hours to this and it would change the amount of time we had to spend time with each other.

Your friends and family deserve to know the changes you are going to make to your life because it affects them; and this will help them be supportive and understanding to your new conditions goals, and aspirations. Plan it, measure it, and go for it and live your ultimate life; but it begins by planning your life.
