The apple wireless magic mouse is currently the best mouse product that apple has to offer. This wireless mouse has multi-touch surface technology inside of it, allowing you to perform a number of task without moving your hand away from your mouse.
The Apple Wireless Magic Mouse Surface
The magic mouse comes with a smooth surface. At first glance, it doesn't seem to have any buttons on it all...like any other apple mouse, but this mouse has more functionality than you can shake a stick at. It clicks, it scrolls, and it swipes. With the multi-surface technology, your magic mouse will respond to 5 different unique mouse responses. You can left click, right click, scroll, swipe and pan. You can personalize your magic mouse by enable or disable any of responses using the mouse preference settings. You can even add some additional bells and whistles to this mouse by using third party software that is available on the internet.
Performance with the Apple Magic Mouse
The magic mouse performs very well on most surfaces. I've had no problems using it on my desk and table (of course...), but I've also had a good experience using the arm of my chair and my leg. (I usually have pants on, I don't know it works on the skin and probably would be too embarassed to tell you anyway...) A 'momentum' setting in the software driver gives you the same type of scrolling feel that you will find with product such as the iPhone. Scroll faster with fast finger movements, or use slower movements for finer control. Magic Mouse also has a very good mechanical clicking system that is very comfortable to use.
Battery Life with The Apple Magic Mouse
The apple wireless magic mouse has an on/off switch located on the bottom of it to quickly turn it on/off. It is powered by 2 AA batteries and is rumored not to have a very good battery life with regular batteries. To combat this issue, Apple has develop a rechargable battery system that comes equiped with 6 rechargeable batteries. These batteries tend to perform better than a regular battery. While the batteries are charged, but not in use...they will lose their charge at a much slower rate than the popular rechargable batteries. By the way, they are just batteries, so you don't have to only use them for your apple devices. The will work just fine in your remote controls, small flash lights, or anything else that uses AA batteries.
