You may have come to a point where your iPhone's battery doesn't last anymore as it used to and you need to charge it more often than usual. This is a normal thing especially if your battery has been around for a while. They usually have a certain number of charging cycles before they need to be replaced with a new one since they won't last as long anymore. Replacing an iPhone battery can be a bit more complicated compared to changing a battery with other phones where you just have to take the back cover off and pull your battery out. The battery is actually situated at the back of the motherboard which you have to take off given the right tools which makes it quite a challenge for some people. I'll show you in this article what your different options are in getting an iPhone battery replacement.
iPhone Warranty
Your iPhone comes with a one-year warranty upon purchase. It covers battery replacement for defective batteries within the duration of the warranty. If your battery is not working well and you need it replaced within a year from your purchase, this is the best way to go since it is covered by Apple's warranty. Nothing beats free service! ;p
AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone
Apple offers an insurance product that extends your warranty to two years. This covers battery replacement only if your battery drops below 50% of its original capacity. This will cost you $99 though and you have to buy it within 30 days upon purchase of your iPhone. If you ask me I wouldn't buy this for the reason that it is quite expensive knowing that I could do it on my own. I don't think that you would have your battery replaced often within that period of time. You might need to replace it only once.
Apple Service
Apple does offer a battery replacement service at $79 not including shipping cost. If you would rather hand it to apple because you're not comfortable in doing it on your own then this might be an option for you. If you have the money to spend though, I would suggest you consider buying the AppleCare instead since it covers not only your battery but your iPhone itself and the things that came with the package. Plus there's just a small difference between the two. But if you got your iphone for more than 30 days, you won't be able to avail of the AppleCare Protection Plan.
iPhone Battery Replacement Kit
There are other companies that manufacture and sell a kit that contains a replacement battery and tools that you would need to take out the old one. These tools will help you open your iPhone without damaging it if done properly. The good thing is that these things sell for $20 or less which is a good bargain considering that it's not even half the price that Apple offers for their service. The important thing here is just to follow the instructions on how to do it properly and your iPhone should be safe from any damage.
So there you go, those are the different options you have to get your iPhone battery replaced. I do hope you choose the best option that you see best for your situation and get your iPhone running again to full battery capacity.
Maximize your iPhone today!

Thanks Hani! I do hope you choose the best option that's right for you! :)
Hi Ty! They don't last very long, do they?! I was quite disappointed with the iPhone's battery life when I first got it, I'm buying a battery extender case though to help extend its battery life.
yeah the iPhone is a really great phone but it still has a few bugs...the battery tho only last for what, 3 hrs if u are using it for media...if even that...how well do the extenders last?
the iPhone is said to have 1420 mAh of battery capacity. While most "battery extender cases" are around 1500 mAh. So it should basically double your battery life Ty. But there are external battery extenders (chargers) that have a bigger battery capacity than that if that isn't enough for you.
They vary according to the company who designed them but to give you an example I will cite here the dimensions of a mophie juice pack air for the iPhone 4s (battery case extender) compared to the iPhone 4S itself. Height - 5.07 in (mophie) 4.5 in (iPhone 4S) Width- 2.51 in (mophie) 2.31 in (iPhone 4S) Depth- 0.68 in (mophie) 0.37 in (iPhone 4S) So if you try to subtract the things one by one, you will get the added dimensions that the battery case will include in your iphone It will add - 0.57in to height, 0.2in to width, and 0.31in to depth of your iPhone 4S. I hope that helps. Cheers!
Great article, I am gonna need a replacement soon too, not that the battery ever did last very long
