This is the final installment of my four part series on 12 must have foods for a six pack diet. In parts one through three I explained the benefits of nine different power foods that not only help you cut down belly fat, but also offer disease fighting nutrients and countless other health benefits. In part four, I will be taking a close look at the final three power foods and they are, last but not least, whole-grain breads and cereals, extra whey protein powder, and raspberries and other berries.
Whole-grain breads and cereals: Whole-grain, whole wheat, 12 grain, 7 grain, fiber rich; There are so many different kinds of breads to choose from that the bread aisle in your grocery store can be a very confusing place. So how do you know what bread to choose? There are two simple little words to look for, whole and enriched. If bread says just wheat and nothing else, it simple means that food manufactures have stripped away all the nutrients and added molasses to make it look brown. This is not good bread for you and it is a mind trick that food manufactures use to make you think you are eating healthy wheat bread. You want breads that are labeled whole wheat or whole grain, or contain wheat enriched flour in the nutritional label. These are the breads your body likes as they contain complex carbohydrates which give you steady amounts of energy throughout the day. It is simply that easy to figure out which bread products will actually add some health benefits to your diet.
Healthy whole grain cereals are also a little tricky to find, as food manufactures like to load these cereals with large amounts of sugar to make them taste more like a dessert than anything else. Simply look for cereals that contain the words whole wheat or whole grain just like you would bread, and make sure to check how much sugar is in them. There is no magic number of sugar to look for, but I always try to find a cereal that has less than ten grams of sugar per serving. Some examples of these low sugar cereals are honey bunches of oats, cheerios, most fiber one brand cereals and almost all kashi brand cereals.
Whole wheat's and whole grains are an important part of a six pack diet as they prevent your body from storing fat as well as fighting against obesity and high blood pressure. Try to stick with whole wheat bread products as much as possible and avoid white breads, white bagels and doughnuts at all costs.
Extra Whey Protein Powder: If you want a very easy and effective way to help build muscle and burn fat, adding extra whey protein powder to your diet is second to none. All you have to do is add a scoop of protein powder to water, milk, or a smoothie and you have created one of the most powerful fat-burning and muscle building techniques available. Adding a scoop of vanilla or strawberry protein powder to a smoothie that includes ice, low-fat yogurt, bananas and strawberries gives you an excellent kick of protein and adds to the already delicious flavor of the smoothie. One of the best things about extra whey protein is that it is now available at almost every local grocery store and you can get high quality brand name jugs of protein for fewer than twenty dollars. I recommend six star protein powder as it adds 23 grams of high quality whey protein in just one scoop and the vanilla cream flavor takes awesome when mixed with a glass of low-fat milk.
Raspberries and other berries: If you are like me, you are a very busy person and sometimes have trouble remembering all the things that are going on in your life. Here is a little known fact about raspberries; Raspberries contain an all-purpose compound called flavonoids and this compound has been shown to improve your short term memory as well as eyesight and balance. Raspberries also contain high amounts of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. These same compounds are also found in blueberries and strawberries. Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are an excellent addition to any diet as you receive all the above mentioned health benefits and the diversity and great taste that these berries offer as well. I love strawberries and low-fat whipped cream for a snack at any time of the day, and raspberries and blueberries are a welcome addition to any smoothie creation you can think of.
Here is an one of the coolest grocery tricks I have ever came across; When picking your berry of choice from the produce section, flip the carton over to check for nature's expiration date, juice stains. You want to buy berries that won't leave you putting fingerprints on everything you touch after eating them.
Whole grain breads and cereals, extra whey protein, and raspberries and other berries are an important addition to your diet if your goal is to tone your midsection and get your body back into tip top shape. The food you put into your body today can have a huge impact on what your body looks like in the future.
If you are truly dedicated to losing weight and getting into shape, you will start to put a huge emphasis on the decisions you make in the kitchen and in restaurants. I cannot stress enough the importance of healthy eating as it impacts more than just your ability to lose weight. You will start to have more energy throughout the day, become more focused and organized, and very possibly improve your sex life as well.
If you want to uncover those abs and start feeling more confident in your day to day activities, you will stop TRYING to eat better and get into shape;you WILL eat better and get into shape. The only person who is stopping you from eating healthy is yourself, so if you want to start making some changes and improvements in your life, it's time to take a look inside and see what you're really made of. The journey can start today, but there is only one person who can pave the path to success. It's time to take that journey and walk that path and the longer you delay the harder it will be to get started. Stop thinking about doing and start actually doing. The time is now to take action, and if you do, you may find far greater rewards than you ever imagined.
Great i am working on my six-pack and this is very helpful.
