About five years ago one of the most difficult at home workout programs ever was released. The name of this program is called Insanity. Insanity is a two month long program that promises to get you in the best shape of your life, no questions asked.
The Insanity workout program is not your normal exercise program. It is a very extreme and intense program. If you are not in excellent condition to begin with than you should not be thinking of doing Insanity, This program is meant for individuals that already have a level of fitness that is above the average persons.
The results that people get with the Insanity program are well rather insane. People that follow the program and the diet to a T, typically lose about ten to twenty pounds, but they also build an underlying muscular foundation. Insanity is also great at improving athletic performance, this is because it relies heavily on Plyometric movements that help build explosive strength as well improve cardiovascular health,
The Insanity program is complete workout system. Not only do you get ten workout programs on DVD you also get a complete diet plan and a workout calendar. The calendar is useful to track your results, which will keep you motivated to continue to follow the program. The diet plan is also very important part of the program. The Insanity diet is not a starvation diet it is a diet plan that fuels your workouts. This way you use food as energy the better you follow the diet the more energy you will have to get the best results with the workouts.
Though Insanity is only two months long you get ten different workouts to do during these two months. The first month of the program is very difficult for the majority of people. The workouts during this month are all about forty five minutes in length. During the second month the workouts are an hour in length, but people often think these workouts are easier, in reality they are much more difficult but seem easier because you are now in much better shape than when the program began.
While the Insanity program or P90X is not for people that are completely out of shape, you do not need to be in peak physical condition to perform the programs either. If you can run a mile in under ten minutes then I think that you can do the Insanity workout program. If you have a difficult time making it up more than a couple flights of stairs then I think that you should look for a different exercise program to begin with. If you are head set on Insanity, but out of shape please tone down the workouts so you do not injure yourself.
