Asian Flush - A Practical Way To Find Relief
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

When they a looking for Asian flush relief, most people assume that the Asian flush is the result of an allergy to alcohol, and that because of this, it should be treated in the same way. This is actually a really bad assumption to make and the Asian flush is something that you should attempt to understand before you try to work out what the best solution for the problem is.

The idea that the Asian flush is an allergy probably comes from the fact that some of the symptoms are the same or similar. For example, people with Asian flush sometimes break out into hives or are extremely red over their entire face and their neck. While the two might have some similar symptoms, the causes are completely different, and the way of treating them are also very different.

You don’t want to treat the Asian flush as if it is an alcohol allergy. The treatment probably won’t be very effective, and you could even put yourself in danger. For example, some people believe that you can get relief from the Asian flush by training yourself with alcohol. This means that each time you drink alcohol you have a little bit more. The idea is that by doing this, you are teaching your body to build up a tolerance for the alcohol and its effects.

Now, this approach works if you are trying to increase the amount you can drink before you get drunk, and it can even sometimes work in combating an allergy. However, the Asian flush is caused by having an enzyme that doesn’t work properly. This means that part of the system for breaking down alcohol in your body isn’t doing its job, and this causes the symptoms of the Asian flush.

Clearly, trying to build your tolerance for alcohol won’t help much if you have an enzyme that isn’t working properly. After all, feeding the enzyme alcohol is hardly going to make it suddenly decide to work.

So, building your tolerance isn’t a good way of finding Asian flush relief. This means you need to look for a different way.

The best place to look for such an answer is the internet. There are a wide variety of discussion boards, blogs, forums, and websites that have possible answers. The tough thing is to now decide what is fact, and what is fiction. My personal recommendation is to just choose a solution which seems plausible to you, and try it. There has not been a lot of official scientific study with regards to this condition, so trial and error is going to be the best way to solve your problem. Unfortunately, some solutions work for some people, but not for others.

How can you know what will work for you?

Only by trying. Don't 'put all your cards on the table', and go for an all-nighter when trying a new remedy. Have a drink or two, and see if you find an relief from Asian flush. Build your way from there.
