Boost Afternoon Energy!

Need Afternoon Energy?

Afternoons can be a very lazy time of day. I don’t know about anyone else, but by 3pm, I start

wishing I was in preschool again so I could take a nap. But, I always manage to beat the sand

man. How? Well…..

For starters, high energy snacks!

What you need is a snack thats high in energy! I personally like hard boiled eggs and granola

bars. The eggs have protein, which always helps energy levels. And granola bars are yummy,

and the carbs also give you energy as well.

But you don’t have to stick with just those! Nuts, yogurt, even cans of tuna can help to boost

your energy enough to finish the day. And there are many more different foods that can be used

as snacks, that are high in energy, and healthy too!

But food isn’t the only way to start beating those afternoon blues! You can also….

Take a quick walk around the office!

Don’t underestimate this one! Especially for those who sit at a desk for work, this can really

help to get the blood pumping and get some energy back. Even if you just take a quick walk for

one minute, it can really help. And, if you have some room, a quick stretch can also help to

loosen up the muscles, and get more blood flow to vital parts of the body!

One final thought…..

Get more sleep!

I am a night owl, so getting enough sleep is hard. But, having a good, restful night is essential for

maintaining energy levels throughout the day. I’m not saying go to bed 3 hours earlier than you

normally do. I notice that if go to bed 30 minutes before I am accustomed to, I have more energy

throughout the day.

Remember, you don’t need to make big changes to increase your energy level. One big change

is harder to sustain than several little things. After all, it’s the little things that count!
