Cancer The Deadly Disease

You already know there are two deadly things. One is AIDS and the other is cancer. The only difference between these two is that in AIDS you can think what caused it. For cancer the exact cause is not known. However, the scientists, by now have identified the risk factors of cancer.

If any of your family members is diagnosed with cancer, you must be wondering as to why it happened so. In the back of your mind you must be having a question “Do I have cancer?” Without sparing even the infants, elders & pregnant women, cancer is likely to attack anybody no matter who they are. It has no bearing on any particular cast, creed, colour or the religion of human beings. It does not consider whether he is living in a developed country or in a developing country. It is universal.

To be diagnosed with cancer is the most unfortunate experience one can have. Cancer treatment methods are distressing. It is worth mentioning here that early detection can completely cure cancer. It is better therefore, to know about the disease.

If you have a bad family history or you are over fifty years I suggest you read a little bit about cancer. You should know how cancer can be detected early and what are the warning signs and symptoms are. If you have any complication that lasts for an extended period of time or it is getting worse day by day, it is time you see a doctor as he is the best person to find what it is.

It’s the doctors who take care of the treatments alright but you should know how it affects a person. Having to be diagnosed with cancer and having to get the treatments can affect any one socially, psychologically, sexually and in many other ways. There can be so many other cancer related issues too like sexuality, depression, anxiety and fertility. It’s always better to have the knowledge on the various types of cancers, their signs and symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis, treatment etc. Worse come to worse, if you are diagnosed with cancer and have to commence treatments, make sure you do not listen to what other patients say. They relate the stories of their own and it may not have any similarity to yours. Consult your doctor and ask whatever you want to ask. Nursing staff too will assist you to solve your problems.

Having healthy lifestyle habits can reduce the risks of developing cancer. Quitting smoking, having a healthy diet and taking exercises regularly is very important. The most important thing is to commence the treatment as soon as a cancer is found.

Thanks for the comment. Mental thoughts play a great role in the recovery process. As you do now, please continue to give thanks in your mind to chemo, the scientists who invented it, the doctors who treated your loving son and the nursing staff who nursed. Give those people strength to cure many more.
