If you want to avoid cold symptoms then taking a few steps ahead of time will help you stay out of bed during the cold and flu season. There are natural ways to strengthen your immune system so that your body will be able to protect itself from any bacteria that might try and attack. If you take steps now you can prevent aggressive bacteria from wreaking havoc on your body.

Believe it or not there are natural ways to fight cold symptoms! And they are simple things that you are probably already aware of. But maybe you forgot to put enough importance on them as you did not know they were associated with ways to fight cold symptoms. Things like eight hours of sleep each night, eating a diet rich in live foods, having a daily green drink, and staying properly hydrated.

When I was growing up the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away was very popular in our family. And why is that? Well, increasing both your fruit and vegetable consumption increases your levels of antioxidants in your body. This strengthens your immune system allowing you to better be able to fight cold symptoms. But what kind of serving amounts do you have to eat in order to be able to strengthen your immune system? It will take five to six servings of fruits and veggies per day. This may be difficult for most people, unless of course you are a vegan. But there is a way to get all the phytonutrients you need in the form of a green drink.

There are nutrition companies that are on the cutting edge of food technology that make organic green powders that you can add to liquids to give you a good source of fruits, vegetables, and probiotics. Consuming one serving a day can give you the boost you need to reach the recommended servings of nutrients that will help you fight cold symptoms. These green drinks are not a replacement for a diet that should be loaded with all kinds of colorful fruits and vegetables, but it will help you reach the necessary level you should eat in order to strengthen your immune system.

When it comes to being able to fight cold systems you have to know about things like inflammation and free radical damage, and how these things are responsible for your getting sick. If you do not eat the proper foods, and only consume an over processed dead food diet, than you are probably sick a lot. Only by giving your body the proper nutrients can you avoid cold symptoms this flu season!
