Having a nice set of six pack abs is like wearing a badge of honor-and rightfully so! Most people just bounce from program to program when they fail to see the results they want. The truth is almost any program based in science can get you results, but it`s not as simple as saying"I want six pack abs!" Getting six pack abs requires hard work and commitment. A diet for six pack abs can be very tedious and most people simply lace the patience. A workout program for solid abdominals is no different. Go into this with the knowledge(and acceptance) that it will take a lot of hard work and discipline and the results should start showing within the first week. Just remember that you have to stick with it; your results will go easier than they came!
Here is just one of many programs that WILL get you six pack abs if you have the right stuff(guts and more guts!
Diet: You should avoid snacking throughout most of the day. If you must, stick to low-carb items like nuts and jerky. At the end of the day, you will have your ONLY large meal. This is more of a feast than a meal and should be able to give you sound sleep(important for building muscle/losing fat). Carbs are fine for this meal- just try to keep your food choices clean and unprocessed.
Training: Training for a six pack is the same as training for any muscle group. To think otherwise is just silly! Always do a warmup with some light exercises(crunches work) and move into the heavier stuff. By heavier stuff I really do mean heavy. Do more difficult exercises where you can not simply bang out countless reps. This could be as simple as holding a weight to your chest during crunches. You should target all the different angles that your waist can move in. Be sure to also work your lower back so as to keep things balanced and avoid putting undue stress on the spine.
Shredding fat: All your hard work building muscle will not show until you trim down the layer of fat covering your abdomen. The good news is that if you are already following the other two parts of the equation, you should already be losing fat at a steady rate. To speed up fat loss, go for a sprint every now and then. The body makes changes only under stress so you want to push your output limits, not endurance. Do this and you will feel energized as your body is set in "fat burning mode" for the next couple hours!
